With all the recent debate around the Carrow Road is falling down song it got me reminiscing about the Norwich songs of olde.
Must have been late 90’s but stand corrected and was along the lines of:
There’s a circus in the town, in the town Bruce Rioch he’s a clown, he’s a clown Aaaand Delia Smith well she’s a fudging slag Norwich City going down, going down
Always thought that was a belter and would still scan with their current manager, assuming he’s still there in a fortnight.

It's probably funny to a 12 year old, but grown men calling a woman in her 80's a "slag" or a "whore" is pretty vile imo.
Sorry for any offence caused.
Perhaps we could rework it to:
There’s a circus in the town, in the town David Wagner he’s a clown, he’s a clown Aaaand Delia Smith well she’s just very old Norwich City going down, going down

Bit weird when Norwich is a City and we are the Town.
Remember Norwich singing that song aimed at us but never singing it at them.
it was sung during derby games against them for sure, and in matches leading upto them, I thought it was later than Rioch though, more like the Worthington era, as it came about as they were ticked off about Andy Marshall playing for us, we'd just got relegated and they were starting to "do well" in the division and we just reworded it in one of those haha using your song against you things. I remember it later during the Roeder era too.

Agent Smith is doing us proud
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Yeah I'm sure she'll never recover from it

It’s not about whether it causes offence to Delia Smith. She’s made it perfectly clear in recent interviews that she isn’t particularly bothered about the views of football fans on the terrace.
It’s about what type of person wants to call a woman in her 80’s a “slag” or a “whore”.

I would agree with that, with the addition that it's also about the welcoming and inclusive (or not) environment we want for women and girls who come to PR.

I repeat it's a song, it's not like you're going up to her in the street ffs.
Some people have lost touch in this woke world that's been thrust upon us at every opportunity.
Get a grip.
If you wouldn't go up to her and say it doesn't that say everything about you/ the song then?
Seems really weird how the people making the most fuss are the ones wanting to hide in a crowd to sing something that's just a bit sh1t. The world's moved on.
Why we can't celebrate how great we are instead is beyond me. All the good moments last season were when we singing about us. I don't get this blubbing about it.
