Broadhead watch 17:41 - Dec 2 with 6505 viewsunstableblue

It does feel strange to still be suggesting he’s not out of form. But today he did a hell of a lot right, an assist some breaking of the lines. But for me he’s still not fully there.

At moments his touch and confidence is way way off his capability, and of course he missed a gilt edge chance to really capitalise on a purple patch for Town in that first half.

But I actually thought today there were green shoots of a return to form. He was just more energetic, more involved and more engaged. He was showing for the ball and getting into dangerous positions.

And critically Harness had a poor cameo today, his touch was off. That’s harsh on Marcus as he’s been excellent of late. But it wasnt a display that made you think again - it’s unfair he’s not starting over Nathan.

I’m hoping we’re going to see Broadhead fully firing at the Riverside.

In the last two games Broadhead has scored a very nice goal and made a very nice assist. Hard to conclude anything other than that he's actually in form over that sample size, and if we all know he's capable of better then that's great too. Let's not make something from nothing.

Two posts from you tonight, one having a pop at a player, one having a pop at supporters.

After our 17th win in 18 at home.

I just don't think it's Broadhead's way to stamp his authority on a game. I think he's an end-product type who can do something brilliant with a pass or a finish which results in a goal. If he can track back and cover and put in the odd tackle in between a moment of magic then maybe that's good form for him.

The entire fan base was poor, and needs to sort itself out, says the insightful creator of 'Broadhead Watch'.

He fluffed some stuff that usually he'd execute in his sleep. But if everything he did came off, he'd be playing for Newcastle or similar.

He's a very different type of player to Chaplin, who will always be looking to get on the ball and who can run a game from that 10 role when he's on it. Broadhead isn't that type of player but he offers us something different, he's much more direct than Chappers and more of a ball carrier. That said, he's produced some glorious assists for us and can pick a through ball at speed and he's usually an excellent finisher. That miss yesterday was surprising for that very reason, but he still contributed very effectively and I find it barmy that he's being singled out for his performance again by the OP.

Exactly - a lot of what he does is 'on the edge' - often it's random variance whether some of this comes off rather than 'form'.

For all the grief Frimmers gets for looking for a negative (including from you), I'd recommend you have some of his positivity

Heck for a week for town. 6 outta 9 can't ask for more at this stage. Excellent individual performances lately. Burns chappers. Hirst really stepping up.

He's our real match winner. Even when not at his complete best, he's the type of player that can be totally anonymous and then go 'bang, bang' in the split of a second and win us a game.
