Broadhead watch 17:41 - Dec 2 with 6508 viewsunstableblue

It does feel strange to still be suggesting he’s not out of form. But today he did a hell of a lot right, an assist some breaking of the lines. But for me he’s still not fully there.

At moments his touch and confidence is way way off his capability, and of course he missed a gilt edge chance to really capitalise on a purple patch for Town in that first half.

But I actually thought today there were green shoots of a return to form. He was just more energetic, more involved and more engaged. He was showing for the ball and getting into dangerous positions.

And critically Harness had a poor cameo today, his touch was off. That’s harsh on Marcus as he’s been excellent of late. But it wasnt a display that made you think again - it’s unfair he’s not starting over Nathan.

I’m hoping we’re going to see Broadhead fully firing at the Riverside.

Felt for harness tbf. His game isn't playing in tight spaces yet when he came on we were playing in our own half playing one touch tight space football.. the worst way to have him playing.

a niche perspective

Watched 2000mls away with another board member on here & we both said exactly the same thing,
he’s so much better than we’ve seen of late & not been anywhere near good enough, but as you’ve already eluded too Harness touch & loss of possession on numerous times today is why he doesn’t start! Spot on assessment.

And yet he did some great work to assist Hirst (and obviously scored on Wednesday).

I agree he looked very in and out today, touches and decision making looking a tad off, and a horrible drag wide. On the whole though he's comfortably first choice for me.

Harness has been great recently and he was fine today in my opinion, but he doesn't offer what Broadhead does during a first half when we're trying to blow teams away and win games inside 45 minutes, which is our trademark at home.

I think that’s a fair assessment of Broadhead’s performance - in and out. Some brilliance, but sometimes he really put his team mates under pressure.

You been on the beers Herbie - “piss your pants”

First off read my post again, because it’s positive to Broadhead

Blues he got an assist but there is no way he was excellent first half, no way

He was miles better today as per my post

And he got an assist

But obviously he’s not at his best - it’s so feckin obvious he isn’t

But I have a feeling his clawing his best form back

He’s set such a high standard that people expect that every game. Even if Broadhead has an average game (compared to his top form potential) he is still a great player and today although not at his very best I thought he was very good

A goal and an assist in the last two games. And people say I’m miserable.

I thought he did some great things, then after the miss fell apart.

Guy sat next to me was having a go at him after he'd clearly taken a knock and was hobbling, shouting run for the ball etc etc.

I do think some people suffer from pick a player to moan about and then obsess about them and do seem to watch completely different games as a result.

He set Hirsts goal up beautifully, he was creating chances and making plays all game, people have to understand that opposition teams watch our games and try to mark key players out so they aren't as influential and it was obvious Coventry were trying to press areas where we were trying to create room with a pass.

After he set up our first goal and generally played very well.

Did you miss the first 10 minutes and the brilliant assist for our first goal as only your blind man would try to claim Nathan is out of form after watching that through ball !

My biggest issue with him is the work off the ball. He doesn't put pressure on the ball ahead of Leif like Burns does on the right.

He had a bit of a mixed bag for me today. Started very well, made a superb run and then missed a one on one. He then fell into the trap of trying too hard. We were excellent first half so he stood out a bit for the wrong reasons a couple of times. Nothing awful though.

His header midweek was stellar.

Great week for us after WBA last Saturday.
