(unrelated) mentioning the same person.

I would be absolutely shocked if this is correct. Age, issues, form and then where they play are all against him and of course wages. I give you:

Jesse Lingard

Made me chuckle anyway....

He also seems a complete penis which goes against everything we stand for.

In which case we must be circumspect!

I think it was the other way round, thought Lingard offered himself to Barcelona, which is the equivalent of me offering myself to Dua Lipa.

Aha! This is why Ashton doesn't want us to discuss things we might have heard! Now you're scuppered!

Miss Lipa, I would also like to put myself forward as available.

Someone said the same thing on Saturday, just the McKenna connection. If we got him we’d go up, but if West Ham couldn’t match his wage demands there’s no way we would.

Yeah, staying at West Ham under Moyes probably would've been the right move for him.

As you say it's his prerogative, but when its a short career and you're 31 I can't help feel you would want to finish on a high and have a good 2-3 years of good football somewhere. He won't get the chance again once he retires. He's also been out of work since the summer, so 'holding out' for a bigger pay day can be a false economy.

I've never really knocked people for following the money, but more so at the lower leagues.

But somebody who has operated at the biggest club in the PL for nearly a decade, I can't imagine finances would be tight for him.

Where he had that brief moment to get his career back on track where it was stagnating, that 6 month spell he was electric - I think he'll kick himself he chose money over football at that point.

Again a nod to the importance of having really well balanced honest people around you.

I would highly disagree with you on that one. In my opinion "J-Lingz" as he refers to himself is one of the most overrated footballers of his generation. Bar a few purple patches in his career he has rarely done the business and is more concerned about money, his brand and stupid dances than he is about football.

If he came here he'd be our top earner I imagine and would no doubt underperform (he doesn't strike me as having the best workrate out there and would see us as one last payday) leaving him as a massive drain on resources.

As others have posted on this thread he'd be a bad influence and is precisely the opposite of what we want here. But thankfully these are just people on social media having a laugh rather than even a shred of credibility to them.

I think his attitude is atrocious but on his day he’s a world above most of this league, and he’s still relatively young.

If we did have to opportunity to gamble on him, we absolutely should but equally if West Ham couldn’t meet his wage demands he is never coming near anyone in the Championship.

Starting to look like he's gonna have to take a wage-per-play contract for relatively little or give up.

Personally, I find the wasted talent almost offensive. I know everyone has their own life to lead and free will to do that how they want, but being paid to play football is a privilege too.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

I'm a bit disappointed this post didn't get the credit it deserves. Still, no skin off my nose.

Absolutely, def issues there and that is the one thing KM has been crystal clear on.

Yep, ex or current Manchester United players with attitude or disciplinary issues are a clear KM deal-breaker...

Some Brighton fans would say Sarmiento is like a younger version of Bobby Firminho (a mate sent me that message after Saturdays game!), so maybe that’s how that rumour was started! I thought maybe the next Bobby Petta, but that’s wishful thinking!

Even if we could afford it, I don’t see McKenna bringing in any Bertie Big Bollox on ridiculous wages, it doesn’t fit team/club ethos.

Gamble on promotion this year, or build properly…. I think we do the latter.

She just said she'd drop him a message when she's finished her breakfast.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
