Line up for Millwall 10:21 - Feb 12 with 3834 viewsIPSWICHFANITFC

I've been trying to wrap my head around whether I'd largely stick or twist with changes for Wednesday.

It's going to be a better Millwall team on paper than the side we faced last time, but their form isn't great.

I do feel Hutchinson should start though - whether that's central or off the right I'm not sure.

Hladky
Clarke Woolf Edmundson Davis
Morsy Luongo
Burns Hutchinson Broadhead
Moore

Probably what I'm leaning towards.

Same team if everyone is fit, with an argument as you say for fitting Hutchinson in there – perhaps on the right would be good as would give Joe Bryan, who gets forward well, something to think about.

I suppose Axel might start, maybe at RB to not overwork Clarke's achiles and perhaps Travis for Luongo who McK was reluctant to play twice a week earlier in the season.

Hutchinson to start ahead of Burns I reckon.

I think woolfy shouldn't be in the starting line up tbh.

Any chance Williams could be back in the squad tomorrow?

FWIW I think:

Hladky
Clarke Woolf Edmundson Davis
Morsy Travis
Burns Chaplin Broadhead
Moore

I think Burgess will come in on the weekend to rotate things a bit. Could be Tuanzebe gives Clarke some respite if we get a goal ahead. Travis in for this because I thought Luongo looked a bit tired against WBA...

I'd likely keep mostly the same team - question marks for me....

Clarke - how is his achilles for 3 games a week because we can't afford to lose him

Edmundson - at what point does Burgess come back into the team a think we should get back to Woolf-Burgess over next few weeks for the run in

Luongo - doesn't tend to play the 3 game weeks this season, a game for Travis?

Broadhead - as above with the 3 game weeks, maybe best to give Sarmiento or Harness a game

Hutchinson - looks like he's done anough for a start, but is such an effective sub do we want to give him one? And if so for Chaplin or Burns?

For me I'd bring in Burgess otherwise unchanged

Not sure what Millwall are like, but irrespective I think starting Travis and bringing Luongo on later is a good move at the moment. Also Axel for Clarke IF the achilles needs a rest (which it probably does). I also wouldn't change the full backs UNLESS Millwall are massive giants? (not just giants, but massive giants)

Up top, I wouldn't stray away from the tried and trusted Burns-Chaplin-Broadhead to start the game behind Moore, with the fantastic flexibility we have to change any of that around the hour mark - Hutch, Sarm, AAH, Harness - certainly all the first three of those to come in I would say, to either the same 3-1 formation or more of a 2-2.

Same team but Hutch for Chappers maybe? I'm a massive fan of his but he hasn't looked himself of late, probably summed up by the two good chances that he missed on Saturday.

How about mixing it up a bit and bringing in Travis and Al-Hamadi:

Hladky
Willams
Woolf
Burgess
Davis
Travis
Morsey
Broady
Burns
Al-Hamadi
Moore

If this is the starting line up i'll eat my hat but might be interesting to see Al-Hamadi and Moore starting together, also like Travis defensively

I think we're a much better team when he does play. Saturday wasn't his best game, but I wouldn't drop him for this one.

I don't think BW is back with the club yet. It might be he's back this week, but I doubt he will be involved Wednesday. Saturday is a possibility though.

I thought Edmundson and Broadhead were our best players on Saturday. NB looked confident once he got his goal, but I wouldn't be surprised if Harness did start Wednesday.

I think Hutchinson has been brilliant recently and unlucky not to start. I guess the argument if you start Burns and Hutchinson together is you take away that option off the bench for the right hand side leaving Jackson, which is fine if we are winning the game.

I think with it being Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday, the rotation may come on Saturday against Swansea.

As full strength as possible on Wednesday and next Tuesday?

Not quite on your own. Something has to give when we're conceding every shot on target.

Walton
Tuanzebe - Woolfenden - Burgess - Davis
Morsy - Travis
Burns - Al-Hamadi - Broadhead
Moore

Subs: Hladky, Clarke, Humphreys, Luongo, Hutchinson, Harness, Sarmiento, Chaplin, Jackson

Tuanzebe or Clarke depends on the latter's managed injury, and whether Millwall or Swansea have the bigger units up too/bigger weakness on the left side of defence.

Burgess in for Edmundson purely because he's a left footer.

Travis for Luongo as I think the latter is showing signs of fatigue.

Al-Hamadi for Chaplin as he looks like he something extra which could really help our attack. Though I acknowledge the same could be said about Hutchinson and Sarmiento, whose best work tends to come from the bench.

Hutchinson for Burns, for me. Hutch has done enough to earn a start, and with the greatest of respect to Burns and his family, it is arguable that he has not lived up to his own very high standards of late.

(is that allowed?)
