I think McKenna is great I really do. But if he as good as his stocks says it is he needs to get us back challenging again. He has been well backed arguably better than any manager we have had since George Burley bought Marcus Stewart.
If we don't get promoted then he should stay here as for me he is a top championship manager. Therefore managing at the level of his current ability. |  | | |

I think one of the first things Ashton mentioned when he came in is the need for the club to have the infastructure in place so that every time a manager leaves the whole club ethos is not disrupted.

Personally I think if he did leave in the summer ( especially to the likes of Palace ), I would say he actually lacks ambition to leave for such a PL club. Otherwise, I'm surprised it's uncommon for managers to join 'bigger fish' in leagues they've just been promoted to. I know Phil Parkinson took Colchester to the Championship and then promptly resigned with a year left on his contract, - and then joined Hull three weeks later, in the same league. Nothing Colchester could do about it. They did get 400,000 in compensation. I think that figure was worked out by some kind of tribunal. |  | | |

You may have meant Premiership, in any case, I don't see McKenna leaving if we are promoted.
This definitely puts pressure on the players to succeed, if they want him to stay, which i'm sure is a given. Also the supporters can play their part in vocally pushing the team on.
I'm sure it wont be popular, but everyone is replaceable. There are other good managers out there.

It's just my opinion, but, I think a manager needs to be ambitious, he needs to publicly show ambition. i don't think it would look good if he were to completely dismiss the idea of joining a premiership club.
Difficult decisions for McKenna, by staying until at least the end of the season, it proves loyalty. on the other hand he needs to keep motivating our team and hopefully we make the premiership.

Not sure why "the Summer" has come to be so central to the narrative here.
For obvious reasons the majority of managerial changes come in season. There's zero guarantee that there's an appropriate job for McKenna available post-season.
That's before we get to thinking about exactly how high his stock would be for a PL club if he's just blown a 10-point lead and missed out on the play offs. |  |

Yup - It would be really funny though if he got the West Ham job in the summer, and did a Paul Hurst - p*ssed off Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta on his first day at training, sold them off to United, and replaced them with Marcus Harness and Sam Morsy for £15 million combined.
