I think it's the draws which are bugging me slightly, and I'll acknowledge unfairly.
McKenna said himself we've only lost six games, which is remarkable, but split the twelve draws to six wins and six losses then we'd have 12 more points on the board. Obviously that was never going to happen - draws are a part of the game. But so many come down to basic errors. Tonight was one of the worst.
Saying that... I would have taken a draw before kick off. But we were so ruddy close to three points. | |

Not to mention a long-ish spell of debilitating illness for several players at such an incredibly hard end to the season; the nutritional deprivations of playing through Ramadan for Sam and Ali; and playing through the pain barrier when exhausted for many more.
Skill, determination, dedication, professionalism, guts and team spirit since August - I'm bloody proud of the lot of 'em, hats off and my thanks to them, wherever we are in July. |  |
