Home Ticket Priority 15:29 - May 7 with 7007 views | itfc48 | I don't envy those that have the job of working out how the home ticket priority should work for next season. I remember last time we were in the Premier League a ballot system was in place which worked ok from what I recall. As a long-time member, I would like to think loyalty is rewarded however I do recognise the importance of getting the new young fans hooked. I certainly don't expect to go to more games than I have been attending during an average season but would like to have some priority over those that have been to less games. I wouldn't be too chuffed if every game was on the luck of the queue and I expect there will be plenty of away fans by membership and trying to get tickets if some sort of points system wasn't in place. Am also expecting some sort of price rise but hopefully a sensible one - I've seen some horror stories from other clubs. I've no reason to doubt our ownership though as they've been great so far.

Trouble then is that someone who has been to 10-15 home games last season and potenrially every season for the last ten years, has the same chance of getting a ticket as Steve down the road who has never been to a town game but wants to see Haaland play. I see it both ways, but season ticket holders aren’t the only ones who deserve to have our loyalty rewarded. Lots of people wanted season tickets last year but they were sold out before they could get one.
Home Ticket Priority on 09:27 - May 8 with 1466 views | DinDjarin | Agree as a season ticket holder that the window to buy tickets is not required and should go to general sale but pretty sure there will be enough members next year it would never actually make general sale. The away points system I cannot see changing and will continue to be a closed market to those already on high points which really is the only way to do it and reward those who regularly travel. Whether the club can police who is actually attending on the tickets is another issue altogether.
Home Ticket Priority on 08:14 - May 11 with 1329 views | EastLondonBlue | Most prem teams run ballots I believe but I would think the best way to do it would be to have two membership levels - first for those that have been members before and then a secondary group for new members.

There are 2 seats in front of me that weren't used at all last season, apart from the Huddersfield match. Now the club has the ticket resale site, there is zero excuse for not putting your season ticket up for sale, or donating it to the Foundation. So many people are desperate for tickets, but those that can afford it are 'hogging' their seats on the off chance they want to go to a match.

Home Ticket Priority on 08:15 - May 8 by Sawtrich | This is going to be difficult to work out for the club. Many people have to work weekends or have family/caring issues which means a season ticket is out of the question but they have been regular attenders when they are free. Personally I've been going to whatever game there is when I haven't been working, whether that is League One or Championship or whatever. I am now facing a more expensive membership (I guess) and the prospect of fewer games as getting hold of tickets will be harder. |
We kept my OHs season ticket last season even though she could only attend 5/6 matches - as otherwise it was pretty guaranteed that she'd not be able to get one for next season. The reselling platform is a game changer - and that might help some get tickets as more people are likely to sell through this route than unofficial channels. At the same time, that makes the chances of getting a season ticket less for others as there's even less incentive to give one up.

I expect the club will limit the number of times you can use the resale site, to stop people retaining season tickets and not attending matches. Something along the lines of, you can only miss 3 league matches and/or put 3 tickets up for resale, otherwise can't renew the following season.

In principle I get that, just needs to be flexible enough that it doesn't disproportionately impact on particular groups.

Surely if they put that in place it’ll then force you to sell elsewhere?

Or just give it away, as we've done quite a lot this year.

Home Ticket Priority on 13:12 - May 11 with 1093 views | Vaughan8 | I do think they will have some sort of ballot thing for members. That would probably work best. I don't think ST holders should have any priority for extra tickets now. Also, I'm not sure how, but if they want the resale website to kick off, they need to stop St holders just giving tickets to their mate/family for games they can't attend, but you cant be checking ID every person every game. Maybe have a photo wirh the ST card? I'd imagine 80% or more of ST holder just do this. It's less hassle than reselling it I should imagine. If you're looking for loyalty, you might be disappointed too but I'm intrigued about what they are going to do. [Post edited 11 May 2024 13:14]

I believe Brentford have a policy where if your ST is unused for more than two games a season - without you prior listing it on the resale platform - it gets cancelled.

This is the Brentford policy which gives plenty of options for ST holders to ensure their seat isn't left empty. Pretty good results for occupancy as a result of it. https://www.brentfordfc.com/en/every-seat-counts-policy#:~:text=There%20will%20b

Home Ticket Priority on 16:15 - May 7 by Matt_Netherlands | 1st Priority: Members who attended 10+ games in 23/24 2nd Priority: Members who attended 5+ games in 23/24 3rd Priority: Members 4th Priority: General Sale Return tickets: Distributed by ballot That's how I’d do it. Like others have said, it seems a bit wrong for season ticket holders to have priority over the general public. I do think though that those who have been to a decent chunk of games this season deserve their loyalty to be recognised. The club also desperately needs to sort out the online queuing system so that it verifies credentials before someone can join the queue. |
There are 1,800 season ticket holders who didn’t renew- they still might want to go to some games !
Home Ticket Priority on 14:38 - May 11 with 1004 views | Pinewoodblue | Ground capacity will be lower next season than this as no doubt the size of the press box, broadcast area will rise. Possibility of increased hospitality options which would eat up some of available match day tickets. Pricing. Important , for future season ticket sales, that the price benefit of having a season ticket is maintained so expect a 20%+ increase for match day tickets. 19 games instead of 23.

That seems completely fair. I don’t like the idea that people get penalised if they often use the ticket exchange. There’s an elderly chap who sits in front of me who probably gets to about 50% of the games, but he’s been going for years when to be blunt the Club was desperate for anyone who was prepared to buy one. This system would work perfectly for someone like him. The club would no doubt resell his ticket at the higher match day price, so they don’t lose out
