If he keeps waiting and then doesn't get offered the MU job, he is in a weaker position to negotiate with either us or Brighton. Right now, with Ed Schwartz in town, there must be a new contract waiting for him to sign. Ed Schwartz is no muppet, and surely KM can't just sit it out for several days more without that contract offer being retracted. I'd expect a new contract to have a buyout clause close to £20M. If ETH is being given another year at Utd, then Kieran signs his new contract and if he goes in a year's time, we get a decent amount of compensation. Would be v surprised if he chose Brighton at this stage. |  |

It would be a very hard headed 'cut your nose off...' decision to retract a contract offer from the hottest managerial property around. This is a game of patience.
The transfer window doesn't open for a few weeks, there's time for this to be sorted sensibly and to mutual benefit. |  |
