I know people say it was just a Journo talking to Alex Scott, but the way he quickly changed tack was the telling thing. Non of them picked him up on it. It was a bit like the Matthew Wright thing from years ago. He knew he had dropped something he shouldn't have.
(obviously the MW one was a serious issue)

What happened?

I posted it yesterday. Alex Scott was talking to a BBC journalist at Wembley about half an hour before kick off.
He said that Ten Hag was gone and Kieran McKenna was the next Man Utd manager. he quickly said something else and nobody mentioned it again.
I got a bit of stick off some for saying it, but I thought it was a moment.

I know a lot of people know this (as stated above by some) but just to summarize.

1. Bookies exist to make a profit from punters.

2. They do not set odds based on what they think will happen, but where they think the money will come in to make them a profit.

3. Odds moving can mean something as simple as bookies feeling overexposed at a given number, or not having brought enough money in.

Obviously, you do see odds suddenly shoot up for someone right before they are hired when information is leaked, but when it is in the "will they, won't they" stage like the United job, the above rules apply.

It was part of the BBC coverage on the tv. It started about 1.50pm yesterday. I don't know how to edit these kind of things, sorry. It was about 30 minutes before kick off.

They wouldn't know what's happening in the manner you suggest they might, I don't think anyone, even Kieran, does at the moment. If they did, I'm sure they'd be reporting it rather than deliberately steering away from it.

I get that Phil, I am not saying it is defo info or anything, just that his name was dropped and never asked about again. That's all. I just heard it and was surprised as no other of the people covering the final had mentioned Ten hag successors. They were highly speculating that Ten Hag was going, but only that one bloke actually mentioned a name.

I put £100 on at 6/1. Not to cushion the blow but because it was a good bet. I’ve now laid it at BF for my stake at just under 2/1 and have a nice £500 free roll if he goes.

There was a lot of speculation yesterday on the BBC coverage that Ten Hag was probably taking charge of his last game for Man Utd. Nobody (accept one bloke) speculated on who should take over from him. Gary Lineker, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer and Micha Richards constantly speculating on the subject. They could have said Tuchel (no problem there as known to be leaving Bayern), Potter (no problem, out of work), de Zerbi ( no problem, out of work) etc. The only named mentioned was Kieran McKenna.
I know this is only one Journo saying a name, just strange that it was the only name as the others could easily have been name dropped without repercussions.
That is all I am saying. No def info or anything like that, just strange that something talked about constantly before and after the game, yet only KM was actually mentioned.

After all this, I hope I didn't just dream it. (I am old and maybe nodded off for a second or two)

Really depends on who has the most clout at the top at Man Utd. There are already stories of differences between the Glazers and Ratcliffe about the new manager if there is one.

Dont forget Ratcliffe wanted Potter as soon as his money was accepted. The club is a complete basket case. Does McKenna really wanted to be associated with that sort of regime. Will he have a say on transfers, probably not!

Hope it gets sorted this week as getting very bored with the whole circus and our club needs to move on with pre season not that far away.

It sounds to me like a trade which he can cash out with a profit fairly quickly whatever the short-term outcome is.
