Kieran 09:07 - May 27 with 1877 views | Jack27 | Before I start, clearly I understand the temptation to be linked with a huge club, also a club you support...but there almost seems more to this. Does Kieran actually want to be our manager? There was Palace last year, which Phil says came closer than we realised. Two weeks after we get promoted Brighton, Chelsea and Man Utd - with the reports (supposedly leaked by agent) almost treating us with contempt. Has there been some fall out between Kieran and Ipswich? It feels like anything is better to him at the moment than managing our football club. [Post edited 27 May 2024 9:07]

Do you know he turned down Palace or did Glasner beat him to the job? I have no idea...but all this noise makes one question everything.

Did he actually turn down Palace or did they decide on Glasner in the end? I know Phil said it got very close, but not sure if he revealed why it didn't happen.

Kieran on 09:32 - May 27 with 1523 views | Paul | It's difficult without knowing the facts, but I don't think this whole saga is painting KM in the best light and it is making more and more people question his commitment. I know people will shoot me down for this, but I do feel that by now, given the amount of coverage the whole saga is getting, KM could have made moves to shut it down but none appear to be forthcoming (that we know of, the reality may be different) because he is angling after a move. I get the attraction of managing an established Premier League club, but no one man is bigger than any club and I am sure that Ashton and co have been seeking the same answers that we are so that our club's preparations for the Premier League can progress. Ashton is a smart bloke. He will know what Kieran is doing. I am sure the two of them are talking to each other during all of this.

Seconded. No. There isn’t enough (any) hard information to offer a view on anything really. Certainly, forming a conclusion on KMs wants and relationship with ITFC is pure 2+2=87 guesswork.

He could just be respectfully listening to what they have to say, what the remuneration is, how the clubs are structured, what input he'd have with transfers, what the plans are going forward etc. And I include ITFC in that. It doesn't necessarily mean he's angling for a move.

It’s the public auction element of this which is disrespecting Ipswich in my view. If he wants to leave to further his career it’s his prerogative but there surely had to be a better way of doing it than this.

It's very odd that some fans seem to be veering towards the most negative options (when none of us know the truth). Do they assume the worst in everything in their lives? I think most people are decent. And McKenna definitely seems a decent chap who will be going through all the proper and most respectful channels whatever's happening.

Yes, the agents leaks to the press haven't helped. .

Kieran on 10:11 - May 27 with 1195 views | sirporter | Saw this posted yesterday and we do not know all the facts but this seemed a fair summary looking from the outside - 'The whole has been greater than the sum of the parts' at Ipswich and it is very early in his career to believe it can be replicated elsewhere so readily. Success has come early and Ipswich have been runners up twice, so maybe KM has a bit more to prove at Ipswich to himself and others before a major move. [Post edited 27 May 2024 10:14]
