Lot of rambling but essentially we don’t have to move. That’s all I was looking for.

Putting away fans in front of home fans in the upper?

No just much closer and making it a safe standing area - email for those in Block C went round this afternoon detailing the changes which includes a possibility that some people in C could find their view of part of the pitch slightly restricted because of away fans standing up.

Yeah knew they were going to put the ‘safe standing’ in but you’d have assumed they’d put it the whole way back or none at all in that block!?

...is going to force people in "non" safe standing to stand up if they want to see the match.

Surely the answer is they only allow short away fans (nobody over 5 feet allowed) in the standing area?

On a previous post it was raised that if the away fans are all standing and the segregation is 4 or 5 seats or an aisle (sounds like will include a glass panel), THEN, the home fans in C will have to also stand to get decent views of the pitch

And of course this ends up in a ripple effect and the whole block stands, which then filters j to a block!

In short the Cobbold Upper is a standing stand!!

Lot of old timers in there won't be happy about having people standing up near them, and they moan enough when we play a short pass under moderate pressure.

You can understand the predicament for the away allocation as you have to lump lots of different types of fan together in a small space. You have to be able to accommodate both the sitters and the singers. What makes no sense is why they've also done this in A Block as well (with ZERO consultation, I hasten to add) when you've got an entire stadium for anyone who wants to sit to choose from. It's going to completely neutralise everything we're trying to do...

I agree they should've consulted you, but doesn't everyone stand in A Block anyway, so I'm not sure how adding railings to allow people to stand has any negative effect on what you're trying to do? Unless I've misunderstood what they've done

We've received an image this morning of the seating plan - and it's just poorly worded. Block C has been narrowed and the safe standing for the away fans is to the side of block C - not in front. The sight issues they mention, I guess, is from those further back in block C looking diagonally towards the South Stand

The same thing basically. Safe standing is going in from row J backwards, while the front half of the stand is going to be the current seats as they are...

No, the rail seating will only be put in from block J backwards. The rest will be normal seats. Sitting in the normal seats will now be properly enforced meaning it'll be us at the back and then 8 rows of people sat in silence...

New standing area for away fans

Which normally means ALL away fans will stand, think it will be a blocked view for anyone in C Block...

While I agree there was little more the club could do to comply with PL requirements, I suspect things like this were not thought of at the outset.

Were the people sat in those 8 rows particularly quiet last season? It is possible to sing while you're sat down!

The safe standing part is irrelevant, most away fans stand regardless.

So as the away section is extended further along th Cobbold Stand, those nearest them will have their view blocked by away fans standing up.
