Italy and Netherlands have both looked pretty average, poor even in the matches I've seen. Not quite as underwhelming as England but we have definitely got very lucky with this side of the draw. What we do with it I'm not so optimistic about. |  | | |

Smashing anybody isn't really Gareth's way, even an electric performance under him is a 2 - 0
I'll give him some due, he has a decent tournament record but you wonder how much that is down to lucking out with a good squad and not so much down to good management, which obviously we have to begrudge there has been some in them

No we wouldn’t. We’ve never beaten a top nation in a knockout game on foreign soil and this pathetic bunch don’t look capable of doing so now.
If we are worried about playing Slovakia because we can’t break them down then that tells you everything you need to know about this lot.

Netherlands could play Austria in the quarters, who just beat them on Tuesday.
I'd actrually rather play them than Ragnick/McKennaball Austria. I'd also prefer Italy over Switxerland. |  |

That slightly ignores the reality that those big names in the other half haven’t played as well as the upstarts who’ve outperformed them.
Are misfiring Belgium going to stretch misfiring France? We’ll soon be finding out. Meanwhile England are where they are because of seeding (largely thanks to to the overachieving Sir Gareth era) ….. and erm, winning their group. | |
