Wow... they won it much more comfortably than I expected! Not that far off the combined total of Reform and Cons! I am over the moon!

Well done & thanks to Green voters; also to Scottish voters who've played a massive part in this GE

5:30am was the estimate, now at 6am I would think that suggests there was a close ballot and a fair amount of count checking.

Still waiting on Truss - there's a possibility she'll finish third

Sometimes recounts are requested by candidates who have not quite secured enough votes to retain their deposit. I'm sure we all have our fingers crossed.

Yeah, certainly was gonna be. Labour have work to do before the next one to bring more people over, the vote share only being a little higher than 2019(if I'm reading the ITV ticker right) - shows this and means that any kind of mild Tory recovery or reform surge wou on e probably cause some trouble. Truss gone, as well.

I'd say that's right. I think the Con/Reform combined vote is pretty much the same as the Labour vote. Reform lost it for the tories, with a large helping hand from Liz Truss.

Lib Dems beaten in north Dorset by just under 1600 votes so very close. A value loser at 12/1. The 66+ seats landed comfortably though which is nice nonetheless

Except it's part of their obviously avoidant rhetoric. They can't admit even now that they've made live immeasurably worse, because they want their grubby hands on power again ASAP. It wasn't that they were parasitic sh it's for over a decade ... it's because there are splits. FFS. I'm assuming after "lengthy soul searching" they will decide it was some other tories than their type. Cleverly stuff. I've just heard another tory say "nothing polls as badly against us as an un-united tory party".... [Post edited 5 Jul 2024 8:39]
