Wow... they won it much more comfortably than I expected! Not that far off the combined total of Reform and Cons!

South Suffolk CON hold by 3,000.

Could have been worse. For a while it looked like that Reform dimwit could do it.

Massive wins for Greens in the three called targeted seats - 10k, 6k, 6k majorities with the safest of the four targeted yet to come. Not a bad day.

Well done & thanks to Green voters; also to Scottish voters who've played a massive part in this GE

Liam Fox gone.

Has Truss gone? No one I want out more than her. Arrogant, entitled idiot who should be nowhere near the Commons.

5:30am was the estimate, now at 6am I would think that suggests there was a close ballot and a fair amount of count checking.

Sometimes recounts are requested by candidates who have not quite secured enough votes to retain their deposit.

I'm sure we all have our fingers crossed.

Few commentators saying it’s more of a Conservative loss than a Labour win…think that was always going to be the case wasn’t it??

Yeah, certainly was gonna be. Labour have work to do before the next one to bring more people over, the vote share only being a little higher than 2019(if I'm reading the ITV ticker right) - shows this and means that any kind of mild Tory recovery or reform surge wou on e probably cause some trouble.

Truss gone, as well.

I'd say that's right. I think the Con/Reform combined vote is pretty much the same as the Labour vote.

Reform lost it for the tories, with a large helping hand from Liz Truss.

Yeah not looking good

Also backed 66+ Lib Dem seats at 4s and that don’t look too good either

Lib Dems beaten in north Dorset by just under 1600 votes so very close. A value loser at 12/1.

The 66+ seats landed comfortably though which is nice nonetheless

Glad I didn't stay up as my constituency (Chelsea and Fulham) was one of the last to be declared (Ben Coleman (LAB) 18,556 / Greg Hands (CON) 18,404)

Quote of the night from former justice secretary Sir Robert Buckland (who lost his seat):

"I'm fed up of personal agendas and jockeying for position. The truth is now with the Conservatives facing electoral Armageddon, it's going to be like a group of bald men arguing over a comb."

Except it's part of their obviously avoidant rhetoric. They can't admit even now that they've made live immeasurably worse, because they want their grubby hands on power again ASAP. It wasn't that they were parasitic sh it's for over a decade ... it's because there are splits. FFS. I'm assuming after "lengthy soul searching" they will decide it was some other tories than their type. Cleverly stuff.

I've just heard another tory say "nothing polls as badly against us as an un-united tory party"....
