Can’t lie £15m + 5m seems extremely steep. Maybe pulling away from Fotis has allowed us to spend more on getting jaden and greaves in. Delap could be a great counter attacking option though. Quicker than Hirst and good with his feet. Still would like to have a proven goalscorer in the door as well though. Imagine we will still be after 1 more striker and send Ali out on loan?

Think you're right. One with experience, perhaps a veteran on a free or for a nominal fee, something like that.

Yeah you’d think an experienced prem / top league striker but at the end of their career could be a possibility. Wonder who’s about?

Or maybe one of our loans on an experienced striker

No, and assume we'd not want Hirst, Delap and Adams. Difficult to keep all three happy, I would have thought.

Any chance of that veteran type being Kiefer Phil or likely to look elsewhere?

Just as good playing RW as well as CF, so effectively we're getting 2 players for the price of one I have a feeling even if we do get Delap, we'll still be in for a specialist No.9 even if it means raiding the bank account again (mainly because of Delap's versatility)

Because of the 3 year accounting period for PSR / FFP, if gives us scope to front-load it this season to get ourselves in the strongest possible position to stay up; if we do manage to stay up, we'll have young players who will have improved (they way all our players seem to have done) under McKenna, so can either go again with very little comparative spend, or we may well receive an offer we can't refuse which can then be reinvested (although Gamechanger have shown they're willing to back KMcK's judgement on that)

Always going to be a gamble signing young players unproven at the level - if we can sign a GK and No.9 who are, think it wil go a long way to helping us adjust to the step up.

Not really heard his name mentioned as a possible this summer. I don't think he's quite what Kieran wants, even if he played a big role last season.

Seems to be off to Sheffield United, which would probably suit him, helping them get back into the Premier League and playing more regularly than he would hear. Notable that George Hirst was back in the XI as soon as he was ready last season.

I really like Hirst personally, think he has earned the right to be our number 9 this season. Him and Delap vying for that shirt seems like a positive outcome - two players with very high ceilings, fit the style and are proven in the country.

Bearing in mind Delap and Adams can both play wide I don't think it would be too difficult.

None of them could expect to be nailed on starters, Adams maybe.

Poll: Pick a goal to win the derby in stoppage time...
