No offence to Chaplin as have sung his praise since we got him, but Sammie is a level up than chappers of you ask me. If he can have even half the season as last season then even 10m is a steal. We don’t need a load of youngsters, we just need a few game changers, riding on a form wave to keep us up and just need to be better than the players of the weaker prem teams.
Love how after the last two season you’re writing Burns off again. Bit foolish that. There’s plenty of players in the PL who aren’t internationals . Will they start? Who knows but they will be playing part in the season for sure.
My favourite Szmodic moment was the second goal when they did Leicester away. Ran from their own half, completely did the keeper, and ran toward goal with both arms out before coolly slotting home.
Lovely stuff, and bonus points because it was against Leicester.
Delap will be a 9 and competition for Hirst. Szmodic can play as a 9 or 10 but will be competition for Chaplin. Burns vs Hutch and Broadhead vs ?

Yeah, this feels about right to me. Certainly not an inside left forward. Just watching his highlights again, he has a lot of the same qualities that Chappers has ... manages to pick up the same dangerous positions over and over again and clearly a lethal finisher.
I like Sammie but really hope this isn't the replacement for Philogene as a long way apart in level and potential. Not sure Sammie has the physical attributes for the Prem.
I thought he was going to cost someone £15 million though and thought would be a poor buy for someone at his age. But at £6 million it's a decent squad addition .

Really excited if we can make this happen. Broke into the ROI team and immediately made a difference with his tireless effort and direct runs. Give defenders something to think about and have to back pedal and turn. Match him with KMCK and could have a very high trajectory.
Can play 10 or left of 10 as I believe he was playing in the ROI team. Most importantly can finish which is what we need to add now. Szmodics is on a mission and the dream of playing EPL and getting more international games will be a big motivation at this stage of his career.
