England ticket allocation for final 17:09 - Jul 13 with 3095 viewsHipsterectomy

I read yesterday that England fans had sold out their 10,300 ticket allocation (surprise!!!). Assuming Spain get the same, that's almost 71% of tickets left for sponsors/corporate/celebs/ex-players/football associations etc.

I'd imagine some must go on neutral/general sale...surely. I imagined it to be high, as it's a huge money making event, but that's the territory of Wimbledon final, Super Bowl, or watching the F1 than a football match, in terms of average fan being able to go.

I am guessing there must be a ton of touts that go to the qualifiers or buy tickets for them at least, so they can then sell on the tournament games and make a ton of cash. Easy money

Anyone could apply in the ballot prior to the tournament starting, so loads of touts will have got them.

If you’re in the England supporters club, and you are caught passing on, think you get a lifetime ban.

2 of my mates just booked a ferry today. Crossing at 1am tonight from Dover, 8 hour drive from Calais and aiming to get to Berlin for midday. Back Monday. Asked if I fancied it but given they’re leaving Suffolk in about an hour and I’ve had feck all sleep as it is I couldn’t deal with it, especially without tickets. Would’ve jumped at it 10 years ago. They reckon they’re sneaking in, zero chance of that.

£50 for the return ferry crossing is remarkably good though.

I hope you don't mean 'sneaking' into the game? I was at the Euro '21 final when the vile scum stormed in, got in illegally whatever you want to call it, and it made it one of the worse days of my life. I hope the Germans are able to Police better than what our mob did that day.

Accidentally gave this an uppie.

If your mates are trying to sneak into the actual final, that’s everything wrong with the modern football fan. Stupid too after the documentary on the last Euros.

They definitely weren’t serious! They’re just going to soak up some atmosphere, beers & kebabs. I know about 10 people over there and only one of them has a ticket. The atmosphere in the bars and hopefully after party should be incredible.

I went to all Euro 2016 games and most of Euro 2020/21 through the proper channels and cap system.

I thought I'd have massive fomo, which I do a bit but watching it down the local with a few mates is to me the 2nd best option.

Enjoy it everyone, it's a massive opportunity.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I had the same experience and gave up going to England games from then on. Up to then I hadn't missed in 12 years, home & away. I have a tinge of should-be-there today, but then I remember 3 years ago, with gangs of drugged-up, black-wearing tw@ts forcing their way in, forcing us out of our seats and making it an absolutely horrible night.

Every home game and 2/3 aways each campaign is enough to mostly guarantee tournament tickets in my experience.

If you pick cheaper, more accessible aways like Germany or Italy during qualifiers and friendlies you can do it reasonably cheaply.

Is amazing to be at the games like the last Euros final and the Germany game last time but in reality it's not a no brainer. It's huge amounts of time, effort and money that doesn't really come across.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

well presumably the German FA arent all about the profit they can make, and pay the police to do their security properly, rather than hope a bunch of volunteers and Saturday night pub doorman can suffice.

Apologies that should not have been a down vote but guess that is the problem when you are getting old and have a shaky hand.
Did 20 years of following England home and away but after what happened at the final 3 years ago my daughter who is a wheelchair user and myself decided it was time to quit.she is quite gutted that she won’t be there today but then said it is great that we have been able to follow the Town away from home the last couple of seasons.

I doubt they'll get anywhere near the stadium. I've been there for a Hertha game and imagine it's very easy for the police to isolate with one entry/ exit route.
What a great experience for them all

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Was going to say the same thing. It strikes me as an incredibly secure stadium, with the turnstiles being at the entrance point to the complex itself, rather than at the stadium doors, so to speak.

Only two entrances to the complex, at its east and south sides, and the turnstiles are pretty solid stone/concrete affairs. With the big, scary, tooled-up German Polizei in attendance as well, I can't see anyone trying to get without a ticket getting off lightly.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.
