I'm with you in principle, but he'll be 2 years older, slower etc. Pundits in the UK have already started calling him out - he will know that and will want to leave at the pinnacle of his career. If we lose then I think he will do his best to stay on.

I think he would stay on, whether or not he's the go to starter is another question entirely.

Harry Kane retirement? on 10:45 - Jul 14 with 2046 views | ibbleobble | Ronaldo is 39 and still playing. Bad example, he probably shouldn’t be but Kane has 9-years on him. I suspect Kane wants 100 appearances and ambitiously, 100 goals.

He'll definitely get into the squad. Him being the captain is a major problem. Captains should only be defenders or midfielders, you don't want to feel like you can't take off an attacker because of the prestige rather than the needs of the team.

and yet theyve been happily doing that this tournament, so how does that stack up ?

Venables gave Shearer the captaincy over Adams because he thought that having the striker as captain meant the ref was more likely to give penalties Seemed to work the other night!

Labour received 2% more votes than the last election friend when they were battered. So hardly any conviction in their big day. It's just the rest of the vote was spread. Starmer is no fool. He realised what happened. So mathematically I was correct. 20 point lead in the polls turned into just a 2% uprise. But you knew that anyway.

And half a million fewer votes than Corbyn's beaten Labour party in absolute terms. I'm not making any comment on whether this is a good thing, or what this signifies or what relevance it may have to Harry Kane. Just a potentially interesting stat.

Perhaps he will. Pro footballers are funny breeds though. Very talented individuals, who have been told all their lives they are special. Gazza had all sorts of troubles letting go of once being great and that chap from Portugal doesn't want to give it up. I just feel Mr Kane might want to leave at the pinnacle.

I very much hope you're right. 'Retiring' from national duty young isn't any better than finding it all too much hassle and refusing to do it in the first place. Vardy wasn't much older than Kane when he decided to put sofa ahead of country, and we were hardly spoilt for choice at the time.
