Meh.

I've always felt with the way we play, he'd be an absolute ideal player for this system.

Just my opinion, but I see him as a squad upgrade on Harness.

But neither of you have any insight into what McKenna is thinking. Moves and links can also be pushed as a result of the recruitment team and agents. So people are perfectly valid to be questioning moves if they don't think they are the right ones, it's not necessarily questioning McKenna.

I know we've been keen on him for the last few transfer windows. Phil has said that as well.

That game at PR, he scored a cracking goal and looked every bit a McKenna player. Can see why we would want him, fits us like a glove.

We need attacking options, he makes things happen, huge number of goals last season, more than deserves a crack at the prem, nothing wrong with a little more experience in one or two signings (as much as I love the general youth policy for potential to improve under the white heat of McKenna's coaching, and the resultant value mushroom as a result).

The club will not be held to ransom. I'm sure they pushed the boat out further than would have been totally ideal for Hutch, Delap and Greaves, because of the huge upside, and I'm sure they would have done the same for Philogene, but the vibes they give off are that they will not be mugs in the transfer market. We've all commented how it's night and day compared with the impression given under the previous administration. In a sense I can't wait for our first £10m-£30m profit on a player, because it will show the plan is working, as sad as it would be to let a great one go.

You've said McKenna though, which you don't know to be true. My point was more to the poster who replied to you inferring that disagreeing with what we hear re transfers is disagreeing with McKenna.

Good point. I suppose they could also be dummy moves by us after someone else as well.

It's nice to have this ultimate faith in KMc though, I kind of believe in him more than the sun coming up every morning, or my existence as something other than a vague idea in a machine.

If we want him, McKenna wants him.

McKenna has been keen on him virtually since he walked through the door. I certainly trust his judgement.

Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll be looking to make a permanent move for Scarlett this summer.

Watch his goals from last season, quality player.

Had a superb season, I’m not doubting that. But I can’t just ignore the rest of his career, he’s been a bang average Championship player. Like people have said, McKenna must see something in him, but for me, I think we should be aiming higher.

Nothing you’ve said I particularly disagree with. McKenna clearly sees something too. For me, given we’re now in the Prem, got money behind us, one of the best managers / coaches in the country, I think we should / could be aiming for better.

Nixon was somewhat disparaging when I reported it a couple of weeks ago. DIscussions still ongoing from what I gather.

I understand what you are saying, absolutely and there is significant clamour for 'Premier League experience' not without just cause.

But I do think there is method to the clubs apparent madness, in bringing in players that we *think can make the step up to the Prem. By bringing in the top Championship players, we are building a squad that are totally together in wanting to prove themselves against better opposition, which will lead to a better squad ethos than dropping in a couple of big names who will inevitably come with baggage, expectations and entourages to match.

Our success thus far has been largely, if not entirely based on our unity, as it was under Burley, I think it would be a mistake to go too big, too soon. I have total confidence in McKenna being able to turn this lot into effective Premier League players.

I think our aim will be Europe by the end of McKenna's contract, but for this year, survival, followed by steady progression.

Has been going on much longer than Broadhead's injury. We've been interested in him in previous windows as well.

but still with SWs dismissal and it was saying he did not fit our profile, iit is confusing for fans to know what is true, both people giving the news of the club are saying completely different things both cannot be true, either the club is saying different things or nobody asks the club maybe they should

Feels like a deal that might be quite difficult to do in the sense that his value to Blackburn is far greater than to us. The bloke single handedly kept them up was player of the season etc. Totally get why they would value him at 20 million. But for us he’s 28 with one standout season behind him, so he’s probably worth half hat to us

Nothing is confirmed until the Club says it is. Just wait for that.
