Are really inappropriate and awful but I can’t help feeling that Kier Starmer isn’t helping the situation
There have have been lots of violent instances recently but comments differ so drastically from Starmer depending on who is doing the rioting.
The people rioting in Leeds were not called violent thugs by Starmer although setting fire to police car and bus
The people who attacked the police at Manchester Airport were not called violent thugs by Starmer
In fact Starmer defended them
Yet if the indigenous population protest they are called violent thugs
If you set fire to a police car and attack the police you are a violent thug regardless of your origin and you should be called so

I think you are right.
If Murdoch wants Farage he (or his chosen successor Lachlan) will push for it through his Tufton Street acolytes. Farage is already very popular among the hard-of-thinking, the racists and the isolationists and these groups make up a large proportion of us.
I won't see it. I'm getting on a bit and not in the best of health but for many of you the next Conservative government is likely to see the end of the NHS and 'the welfare state' as we know it.
Those who think that we are in dangerous times now... give it another three years and you'll be in an existential struggle and either Farage's mob or a far-right Tory party will be in the ascendancy. | |

Absolutely, yes.
Despite the recent election our overall direction of travel is rightward. And the right are gradually taking control of the real power... the press, television, big business and politics.
You talk about them starting to conspire to spread the movement. That happened 30 years ago. They have by now infiltrated the press, the BBC and the Conservative party. And many of the think tanks with neutral sounding names ( Alan Smith Institute, Tax-Payers Alliance, Civitas, Centre for Policy Studies and many many others) are vehicles for furthering the right-wing agenda.
They've already won on Brexit. They will want us to drop our commitment to the UDHR and they will dismantle the NHS and other welfare provisions.
We are already in 'The dangerous times' and many more of us need to realise that we are heading into an existential battle where only one side is, as yet, aware of it. | |
