I don’t know whether I’m angry or sad 22:06 - Aug 4 with 23303 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

This whole week with the stuff on the news is really just awful.

I’m seeing video after video after video of gangs of 100+ scum looking for random people of colour, or Asians or anyone they believe isn’t one of their own.

These people are scum. We know that. Tommy Robinson/Yaxley Lennon should be serving time for inciting this. I’d say he’s the most dangerous person in England right now and his followers are akin to a cult. Likewise the hundreds of others in recent terms who have stoked this fire should be in a cell. Suella Braverman, Pritti Patel, Dan Wootton, Nigel Farage. All of them. We have politicians saying this response is ‘politically justified’. We’ve MPs voted in fairly and squarely actively encouraging this.its abhorrent that this is now normal that it’s not an isolated incident. It’s actually now the norm to hear a politician being openly racist to gain support of the far right. It’s the norm to see thugs chanting about wanting their country back. It’s the norm to see migrants being targeted. It’s the norm to see people being abused for the colour of the skin. I can’t help but be overwhelmed with pure anger and hatred for what those with influence and power have allowed to happen for what would be normal everyday people turning a blind eye to what is happening right now on our streets to let these thugs get away with doing this.

But what is horribly horribly sad is that there are so many innocent people now getting attacked on the street. Just today I’ve seen a car smashed in because the driver was Asian, a black guy attacked by 20+ blokes for asking why he’s being racially abused, an Asian guy with his earphones in punched in the face when minding his own business, a taxi driver crying that he’s being abused every day this week and then at the end of the interview that actually happens to him again, a hotel set on fire with children in and a mob blocking the road and only letting white people drive through. That’s just today.

I’ve said before my best mate is from Kuwait and the thought of her sitting at home today and not going on her family walk that they’ve gone on for years and years (of which I’ve joined on dozens of occasions) across the nicer parts of greater Manchester just because ‘it’s not worth risking it’ makes me feel ashamed to be English. I know it’s a minority acting like this. But if this was happening in Hungary or Poland or whatever we would watch on the news in disgust and wonder how did it happen on mass. And yet now it’s happening daily across England.

I could just turn off the news, twitter etc but that won’t change anything other than make me oblivious. But what is happening right now in my opinion is the lowest point in the history of ‘Great’ Britain. It’s terribly sad.

Poll: Would you take a draw tonight if offered right now?

The rioting is not a reaction to genuine social injustices and it is nothing like the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand leading to World War II (EDIT: WWI - shows how little I know my history!).

There are some very nasty people stirring real hatred for no good reason that has led to rioting.

Can you so easily stir hatred among well resourced, intelligent, socially and spiritually wholesome communities?... or are there clearly some massive facking social injustice in our country, and a lot feeling theyve been left to rot, that creates a deep well of ignorance and anger for the very genuinely intelligently nasty agitators to draw on. What is the rioting a reaction to? Maybe there's different frictions in different areas, but poverty and ignorance seem the relevant factors to challenge, while cutting any intelligent head from the snake. Watching the machinations of this on YouTube etc is terrifying. I'm English and facking gutted and ashamed.

There are many social injustices. There are always poor and uneducated who are always easier to manipulate than rich and educated people (who can also be manipulated).

The point I made is that these riots are not over social injustice. They are manufactured by nasty racists with a racist agenda.

If social injustice was at the heart of the rioting (it clearly isn't), it would not have started a few weeks after the ballot box has returned a potential change to the 14 years that has perpetuated the increase in it.

Social injustice doesn't appear to me to be at the heart of the rioting, I just think having a grotty society increases the amount of grotty, stupid and desperate people, willing to riot.

Your last paragraph makes no sense to me. So because the riots have occurred some weeks after a Labour election victory, that might potentially change 14 years of social injustice.... it can't be linked to social injustices? Sorry but I think you're actually confirming what I've said. 14 years, and more, of shoddy treatment of Britain, by the people that run it, a society enthickened and coarsely ignorant.... and these riots have got zip to do with it?

If it will be so easily sorted by getting a few bad eggs and sorting social medias loom then I don't have to believe this will actually roll on for decades as our society and environment degrade around us.

I think Baroness Warsi sums up Robert Jenrick rather well. But he is also very dangerous, and God help us if he becomes Tory leader.

The BBC is reporting this, which seems good news.

The Telegram messaging app has confirmed to BBC Verify that it is “removing channels and posts containing calls to violence” in the UK.

We contacted the company after noticing that a Telegram group with 15,000 members, that was influential in organising protests across the country, was removed on Monday night amid a series of violent threats and racist messages posted by its members.

"Moderators are actively monitoring the situation and are removing channels and posts containing calls to violence. Calls to violence are explicitly forbidden by Telegram's terms of service," the company confirmed in a statement to the BBC.

BBC Verify has since observed two further attempts by those who set up the group to launch replacement ones - which have also been removed.

The group was among the first to circulate calls for protests in nearly 40 locations tonight.

Launched hours after the Southport killings, the group became flooded with misinformation about the identity of the suspect and called for a protest near the local mosque the next day.

Manuals on making petrol bombs, as well as calls for attacks against people from minority groups, were also posted in the group.

It's easy being a hard man when he is chilling on a sun lounger 1500 miles from the action because he is too much of a coward to face a court to answer the charges against him. There is no veil to these latest threats which are on the verge of incitement to murder. There is a mechanism in place where the Cypriot authorities can invite The MOD Police from the sovereign base areas to arrest those subject to UK military law. Yaxley-Lennon is not subject to that law but I hope an exception can be made in his case.

I saw a suggestion that Cypriot police have already been in contact with UK police about being happy to arrest him on their behalf. I suspect it won't be too long before he is facing charges in this country.

The Daily Mail posted this story suprisingly not defending him. The comments at the bottom are an entirely different story.

Daily fail comments though are 99 percent bots.

Even on sports post it's just Brexit bs.

Also, if that nobber was shot in the face, the party would be bigger than the platinum jubilee. Cherry bakewells all round.
