This whole week with the stuff on the news is really just awful.

I’m seeing video after video after video of gangs of 100+ scum looking for random people of colour, or Asians or anyone they believe isn’t one of their own.

These people are scum. We know that. Tommy Robinson/Yaxley Lennon should be serving time for inciting this. I’d say he’s the most dangerous person in England right now and his followers are akin to a cult. Likewise the hundreds of others in recent terms who have stoked this fire should be in a cell. Suella Braverman, Pritti Patel, Dan Wootton, Nigel Farage. All of them. We have politicians saying this response is ‘politically justified’. We’ve MPs voted in fairly and squarely actively encouraging this.its abhorrent that this is now normal that it’s not an isolated incident. It’s actually now the norm to hear a politician being openly racist to gain support of the far right. It’s the norm to see thugs chanting about wanting their country back. It’s the norm to see migrants being targeted. It’s the norm to see people being abused for the colour of the skin. I can’t help but be overwhelmed with pure anger and hatred for what those with influence and power have allowed to happen for what would be normal everyday people turning a blind eye to what is happening right now on our streets to let these thugs get away with doing this.

But what is horribly horribly sad is that there are so many innocent people now getting attacked on the street. Just today I’ve seen a car smashed in because the driver was Asian, a black guy attacked by 20+ blokes for asking why he’s being racially abused, an Asian guy with his earphones in punched in the face when minding his own business, a taxi driver crying that he’s being abused every day this week and then at the end of the interview that actually happens to him again, a hotel set on fire with children in and a mob blocking the road and only letting white people drive through. That’s just today.

I’ve said before my best mate is from Kuwait and the thought of her sitting at home today and not going on her family walk that they’ve gone on for years and years (of which I’ve joined on dozens of occasions) across the nicer parts of greater Manchester just because ‘it’s not worth risking it’ makes me feel ashamed to be English. I know it’s a minority acting like this. But if this was happening in Hungary or Poland or whatever we would watch on the news in disgust and wonder how did it happen on mass. And yet now it’s happening daily across England.

I could just turn off the news, twitter etc but that won’t change anything other than make me oblivious. But what is happening right now in my opinion is the lowest point in the history of ‘Great’ Britain. It’s terribly sad.

That said, one particular area of the town is exactly as I described, an absolute dump. Dont think that’s a hugely offensive statement to make, of course if you live in said area I can see why you’d take offence.

I'm a journalist. This morning a colleague cracked a social media site used by the rioters, and discovered they are planning to attack a number of 'pro-refugee' sites around the country. Four are in East Anglia. Since contact with the police is impossible, we notified them. This may well lead to groups at those premises looking to defend themselves. It's an outrageous situation, but would they qualify as men (but the other side) armed with weapons?

If that is all correct, because forgive me for thinking it sounds like youve made it up, then I hope to god those attacks are stopped before they start, and those intent on causing pain and damage are arrested on the conspiracy to do so.

Sorry if it sounds like that, but what strikes you as implausible? That the riots are organized?There are 39 locations listed ('Wednesday night, lads! No more immigration! 8pm. Mask up!), and four of them are in the eastern region: two in Essex, one in Cambs, one in Beds.

. I did manage to do something vaguely acrobatic to narrowly avoid being squashed by a yak once, so I suppose it can happen. More times than not though you’ll just end up a mess. Better to run away.

Of course, if you were alone and a mob was going to attack your property. However, if you could get friends and neighbors to support you, you would stand and fight, wouldn't you?

Get them away certainly, it is always best to avoid confrontation (Unless you are police/army etc) to preserve life or limb. But what if you can't get away. If you hide in the attic and your house is set on fire everybody in that attic dies. If there is no alternative you protect yourself and your family even if your actions are outside of the law.

Probably not. My neighbour to the right is 67 and she’s recovering from cancer. She’s amazing for her age (surprisingly hot), but a punch up is probably beyond her. The one to the left is early 70 and had a stroke in the spring and his missus doesn’t look like a fighter. At least he’d be around to add to the numbers though since he had to leave his retirement home in Spain for 6 months of the year after he voted for Brexit (I’m assuming based on his racist views).

Were a bad example, so we’d be running 🤣. I don’t think we’d get much more support from the retirement village at the end of my street either.

I know a guy who got stabbed when he was younger, he said he always imagined he’d be like Bruce Lee and knock the knife out of the persons hand, but in reality he stood there and got stabbed 3 times.

Ok unfortunately this out of control situation is just making me dive deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole.

And I've come to the conclusion that what's texter was saying was a credible opinion and I think the downvoting and vilifying was OTT.

There is two sides to this and there is a grey area too. No one should be armed right now, it has been shown that peace can find a way and hopefully the majority of us can see that and protect our society as a whole. We likely know people whether friends or families who are on both sides of this but those of us on the sidelines need to step in, shop those who are escalating the division and violence. For that, Texters is a million percent correct and the witchhunt that took place on the first few pages was a bit out of hand. I mean, there was no backing down !!! But it can get a bit silly when someone has a different perspective or opinion. We are all different.

The FR can frankly ef off and die.
However, I've seen clippings were particularly Asian fellas (likely not immigrants due to age etc) chucking out social media vids, with the clavas on, throwing out gun signs, harassing members of the public, whilst 'defending' their own patch or confronted the FR nobbers whilst wielding large machetes.

I'm happy to be downvoted into oblivion for agreeing with the villain of the month on these boards but you have to hold everyone to account and not just look at one side.
