I don’t know whether I’m angry or sad 22:06 - Aug 4 with 23301 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

This whole week with the stuff on the news is really just awful.

I’m seeing video after video after video of gangs of 100+ scum looking for random people of colour, or Asians or anyone they believe isn’t one of their own.

These people are scum. We know that. Tommy Robinson/Yaxley Lennon should be serving time for inciting this. I’d say he’s the most dangerous person in England right now and his followers are akin to a cult. Likewise the hundreds of others in recent terms who have stoked this fire should be in a cell. Suella Braverman, Pritti Patel, Dan Wootton, Nigel Farage. All of them. We have politicians saying this response is ‘politically justified’. We’ve MPs voted in fairly and squarely actively encouraging this.its abhorrent that this is now normal that it’s not an isolated incident. It’s actually now the norm to hear a politician being openly racist to gain support of the far right. It’s the norm to see thugs chanting about wanting their country back. It’s the norm to see migrants being targeted. It’s the norm to see people being abused for the colour of the skin. I can’t help but be overwhelmed with pure anger and hatred for what those with influence and power have allowed to happen for what would be normal everyday people turning a blind eye to what is happening right now on our streets to let these thugs get away with doing this.

But what is horribly horribly sad is that there are so many innocent people now getting attacked on the street. Just today I’ve seen a car smashed in because the driver was Asian, a black guy attacked by 20+ blokes for asking why he’s being racially abused, an Asian guy with his earphones in punched in the face when minding his own business, a taxi driver crying that he’s being abused every day this week and then at the end of the interview that actually happens to him again, a hotel set on fire with children in and a mob blocking the road and only letting white people drive through. That’s just today.

I’ve said before my best mate is from Kuwait and the thought of her sitting at home today and not going on her family walk that they’ve gone on for years and years (of which I’ve joined on dozens of occasions) across the nicer parts of greater Manchester just because ‘it’s not worth risking it’ makes me feel ashamed to be English. I know it’s a minority acting like this. But if this was happening in Hungary or Poland or whatever we would watch on the news in disgust and wonder how did it happen on mass. And yet now it’s happening daily across England.

I could just turn off the news, twitter etc but that won’t change anything other than make me oblivious. But what is happening right now in my opinion is the lowest point in the history of ‘Great’ Britain. It’s terribly sad.

Why does this Stephen Yaxley-Lennon need to change his name to Tommy Robinson? Is it because his supporters will struggle to remember a complicated name?

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

I suppose it isn’t suprising that someone who thinks Ipswich is “too full of foreigners” doesn’t see being racist as the worst thing to be.

Almost owning it now, some progress so that everyone can see you true colours

I think a lot of people seem to forget, a lot of our heritage is actually being these so called "Foreigner term" whilst I was born in England (as well as my mum and dad) my great nan/grandad was Lithuanian. the whole issue here is Fascism. and usually the people causing all these issues are literally the dregs of society, the ones who sponge off the government because they have 15 kids and don't want to work.

for alot, it's just an excuse to cause riot/have some fights and loot for a new TV. and the poor people who are targeted are anyone who has a different culture. (to note, a lot of these people were also born in this country)

just a shame that people like my friend and his family (who are Muslim) add to society and work hard (who are also incredibly lovely) are targeted for being Muslim.

If I need to I will go out into my neighbourhood. I will feel no sympathy or regret for people that get hurt, I will target anybody openly racist, and swing my bat with a smile on my face.

The racists must not prevail.

There is a a gurdwara round the corner from where I live, the people who worship there did a lot for the community during covid, and they still do. I will go stand with them should their temple be targeted.

If people were on their way to attack me and my family/neighbours in our homes or businesses I would definitely suggest going out to engage them well before they got anywhere near.

Newcy has a wife and kids, I'm sure if he had to take up a baseball bat against these thugs he'd want to do it well away from them.

You really are one wet old sod aren’t you.
How many times do I need to say the bad on both sides of this are pure scum, in no order of one above the other. Jesus

Of course, my shadow believes me to be wrong in saying the bad on both sides are scum. I should focus my hate at only the ‘far right’… might have avoided a downvote then 😂

I'm guessing you watch WW2 movies and think both sides are bad as there both running around with guns?

Surely the only reason they are so popular is because they are the only readily available warm sausage rolls on every high street.

I strongly agree with this. The demise of the high street independent baker is reason enough in and of itself to riot. My high street baker became a Greggs ten or so years ago. Thanks Obama!

You've raised an important issue that clearly needs to be investigated further.
I love a good savoury pastry, but there is clearly a sausage roll and pastie diversity shortage in the high Street.
Of course we all love Gregg's, you'd be crazy not to, but would it be so popular if there were 2 or 3 other savoury pastry options available on every high street?
I think not. Its time for Starmer to stand up for pastry diversity and guarantee us a minimum of 3 hot savoury pastry options in every high street

You really don’t understand do you.

Counter protests get in the way of Police dealing with the original problem. Enough is Enough and stand up to racism both cause problems for law enforcement.

Not sure where this “ I am offended and have a right to make feeling known by protesting “ attitude comes from. Instead of dealing directly with the initial problem Police resources are stretched trying to keep two sets of idiots apart.

There is no cure for stupidity.

Not sure why you are directing this at me?

I’m not advocating counter protests (but as a principle would defend anyone’s right to a lawful and peaceful protest against anything)

I just have an issue with the racist scum taking to the streets spreading fear and hate. I also have an issue with those defending them either overtly or behind a thin veil of dog whistling.

So what is you think i dont understand?

For what it’s worth, on one of those Sunday walks my best mate goes on that I went to a couple years ago, a few of the men there decided to take a cricket bat and some stumps and play some cricket while the girls either joined in or sat and had a picnic.

In that situation, if a racist mob had seen the game going on and shouted some racist sh*t (as they did in one video of a group minding their business playing cricket I saw on TikTok), I’d be more than happy too to walk over with said bat and smash a cover drive straight into some racists bonce.

I wouldn’t stand there seeing someone I care about being abused for the colour of her skin. Nor her family.

If they were ring fencing their places of worship, shops, other property etc to protect it then fair enough but from the videos it looks like they’re running amok through the city centres with weapons just like the far right are doing, all as bad as each other, which is what Texters is saying.

They’re fighting fire with fire, the police need to do more to protect ‘the other side’ - Where are those water cannons…?

Fecking he'll the apologists for the racist mobs on here.
On this logic Britain was as much at fault as Germany for WW2.

Come and live in Derbyshire mate. We have a regional bakery based in Derby called Birds that serves all of the county plus parts of other counties close to it's borders. It's cheaper and nicer than Greggs.

I have actually had to remove “friends” from facebook for reposting gutter press propaganda…. The irony of some of the posts is incredible… one particular person reposted an article which basically said get rid of all immigrants and put the great back in to Britain, the very same person then reposted and “loved” an article about Sam Morsy extending his deal…..sadly the irony was totally lost on them! And as for Musk what an absolute scumbag he really is…..

Amongst other things society rots from the head down.

Our politicians have pandered to, and inflated prejudice against migrants and immigrants. This country needs a willing workforce to fund the pensions of our ageing population and yet rather than acknowledge this fact political chancers stigmatise the immigrant and the ignorant take up the cause.

The British political classes should be ashamed of the agendas they have set over the course of this last government.

The headquarters is on a road called Ascot Drive about 2 miles south of the city centre not far from the site of the old Baseball Ground. The shop at the factory is the best. Even cheaper and nicer.

I don't think it's much of a leap from the below...

"Ipswich town centre is horrible, there’s no denying that really.
As someone who was born and bred here, and very likely will die here, the downfall of the town centre is horrible to have witnessed, from the shops to the people hanging around.

Im not sure why people say it isn’t the case, but it is full of groups of ‘foreigners’ (unsure how best to describe without offending anyone) young blokes standing around (which absolutely intimidates people) families walking through the town on mass, and he’s not wrong they aren’t speaking English.

But it is what it is now, I hate it, so avoid town centre unless it’s a match day when I have to be that way."

As serious as this topic is, I would love to see a TikTok of someone booting an EDL nobber with a picture perfect cover drive and the elongated pose after - with someone piping up with a 'SHOT' after.

My shot of choice would be bumble down the track and hoon it down leg side. Can generate far more power on someones temple although sacrifices technique.

Also, I don't want to play two sides either but I will say that weapons should equal prison time. No ifs, no buts.

Another alternative would be to smash their googly for 6, removing their middle stump in the process and as such prevent them from polluting the gene pool further. Plus if you get it just right, it could also be called a no ball!

Have you not seen the videos of the same number of men (but the other side) armed with weapons?
Hard to miss.

The entire thing is awful.

In all this all I can think about is the parents of those three girls, and the poor damaged girls that were caught up in the events of Southport. Because their memories do not need to have these events associated to them

I'm a journalist. This morning a colleague cracked a social media site used by the rioters, and discovered they are planning to attack a number of 'pro-refugee' sites around the country. Four are in East Anglia. Since contact with the police is impossible, we notified them. This may well lead to groups at those premises looking to defend themselves. It's an outrageous situation, but would they qualify as men (but the other side) armed with weapons?
