Obviously means KM is going to follow Pep's model, of moving a CH into midfield. John Stones did OK in midfield for a couple if games as a deep playing CH, clearly KM is going to move Wolf into midfield as we're struggling to get midfielders in.
Could make sense, Wolf is very good with the ball at his feet and we've seen him make those long runs with the ball at his feet from the back a few times.

I understand what you're suggesting, and while KMc could consider using an additional CBk in one of the two pivot roles, I don't quite think Wolfy is suitable for this position. Although I I love him and the calmness he brings to the side, he simply lacks the mobility required for one of those roles in our team.

Possibly, Greaves might have a better chance based on the limited times I have seen him play.

I think when you look at our main team from last season (VH - AT/HC - LW - CB - LD - SM - ML - WB - CC - NB - GH) that the only players guaranteed to start this season would be Leif Davis and Sam Morsy and all of the 9 other spots are up for grabs. Ben Johnson, Jacob Greaves, Aro Muric have all taken one, Omari Hutchinson ended the season as our 10 and must be pencilled in there ahead of Chaplin and Delap will compete with Hirst.

That leaves:
Luke Woolfenden
Mass Luongo
Wes Burns
Nathan Broadhead

I can't say any of them being upgraded is a mega surprise, and the order it actually happens in bears no relation to the overall work we are trying to do

Pretty much agree. I think a fit Wes Burns is a starter and agree Omari in the 10. Wes is a bit of a unique player and so important to how we play with his engine.

5 coming on are so important as well so we have to have numbers of Prem quality for this reason. Just having a quality first 11 doesn't cut it (which I think we all agree)

Sheaf isn't our player. (And I think is injured?)

I'm aware, neither is Jack Clarke but i want them to be...

Apparently his injury isn't too bad, if what I read is correct.

Honestly! Don’t just swallow everything you read or hear.

Where did he state this. He might not want to come here. The whole rumour could well be BS. Maybe the first ITFC knew of his availability was when they were surprised having not bid for him that he didn’t want to come. There’s life on Mars.

I was only asking the question... It was stated on here I believe in one of TWTD articles !

It’s not an act…. on 09:40 - Aug 8 with 1464 viewsBloots

Shades of "Banter era"..... on 00:14 - Aug 8 by J2BLUE

I don't get this negative act mate. It's odd.

I predict we won't see Ladapo in the squad for Liverpool even if we do not sign anyone. Really can't see us risking him being able to move on if he got injured and not playing him keeps our options open if there is no season long loan or permanent deal for him. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he's released a couple of days before the window closes with a settled contract that allows him to sign elsewhere for less money.

….its a fact.

At least it currently is.

As we stand we have two fit players that can play CF, unless we play someone out of position or change our shape.

Currently Fred has to be on the bench against Liverpool as a minimum.

If we don’t sign anyone in the next week, or if GH and AAH don’t make a return what is the alternative?

Balls.

....if we sign our 6th centre back, when Freddie Ladapo is currently our second choice striker and we don't have a left sided attacker at all.

Not really mate. He's lightning quick, can play anywhere across the back four and even as a DM. He also chips in with goals and assists. Think he scored 3 and got 4 assist last season. That's an upgrade for sure.

Brentford are favourites at the moment though. That's ITK from a mate who used to be his neighbour.

While I agree. One of the weakest areas of our game is the defence. So could be why they are bulking it out significantly. And tbh it doesn't mean we don't have something in the pipeline for other areas

Part of the reason we conceded so many goals, particularly early season at home, was because we were so attacking in intent and got caught upfield fairly frequently. After that period we weren't particularly generous, although a better keeper than Hladky might have saved a few more.

We were more solid away, take out two very poor games at Leeds and Preston, and we didn't concede many. That's more likely the approach we'll go for this season.
