Cajuste - now a doubt? 09:38 - Aug 15 with 4974 viewsipswichtillidie

According to Watson he implies club are considering move now for Cajuste.. “ It's understood the Blues are now assessing whether to continue with advanced talks to sign Swedish international midfielder Jens Cajuste on loan from Napoli.”

Thought we needed two in there but maybe they planned to use just one loan in CM or it was one or the other.

I'd be surprised if we signed both given the wages.

I doubt Cajuste is on particularly punchy wages.

Perhaps it's a case of Cajuste or Phillips plus Alzate (or another free)?

Sounds a lot tbh given where he was signed from, but could be right. What's the source?

Even if that's true, as a loan deal for what is essentially going to be 10 months, it doesn't sound like the worst investment if he adds value.

I'd love to sign him, don't get me wrong.

That was from Capology. Forgot to put into £ though, so more like £25k.

He will not want to come here and warm the bench and can't see Morsey being left out to accommodate him and Phillips.

Plus Phillips is not coming here to bench warm so can see him starting Saturdsy alongside Morsey

Fair enough. Almost certainly puts him in the top 10 earners, but probably not top 5. Not an insignificant wage to be paying (if we're required to pay it all) plus no doubt a loan fee too. Guess its a toss up, if he comes and doesn't contribute a lot its wasteful, if he does its potentially a bargain. That's always the question innit.

Supposedly already in London. They would have known days ago about both situations, so while it could not happen, I reckon they already know where they stand for both.

Aren't him a philips both defensive like morsy rather than a playmaker like lunongo would love both but don't wanna upset the balance

I think that whoever we sign the starting 11 Saturday won't change. They've been training for days for a specific strategy and playing relationships that a newbie, however good, simply won't pick up before the game. And above all else McK is about strategy.

Did Phillips go to West Ham to warm the bench?

McKenna will utilise whatever options gives the best for Town. When
Luongo signed he rotated with Evans but eventually made the position his own.

Whatever happens as long as we are still in the Premier League I can't see either Loungo or Morsy being the midfield duo in a few seasons from now. Maybe if we dropped out of the Prem then maybe, but there would obviously be the desire to get back to the Prem a.s.a.p.

Hopefully not.

We need 2 CMs.

Luongo isn’t a non-defensive midfielder, he replaced Evans who when played meant Morsy played as the ‘playmaker’ further forward. Solidity in the middle to allow Leif to do his thing, especially if we shift to 3 at the back with the right CB making forward runs. Both these guys makes great sense, as were so light in the middle, and will be expecting suspensions alongside the possibility of injuries - most important position on the pitch.

We may decide to sign Alzate, or someone else on a free, instead of two loans.

I would love Alzate, think he would fit in much faster and easier than Cajuste.

From what I've read about him, I'd be hugely disappointed if he doesn't come to us now. Sounds like an absolute terrier, similar to Morsy who is, let's face it 32, & who we surely can't rely on to be playing most minutes of every game in the Prem this coming season.

The Everton interest seems rather tentative, having only "‘asked for information’ about the player according to this:-

Gianluca di Marzio hasn't said anything of the sort anywhere since the link to us came out, so I think it's previous information requests rather than recent
