Whilst it would mean removing Tuanzebe 10:13 - Sep 1 with 4419 views | FrimleyBlue | I do actually think we may see O Shea, Wolfenden and Greaves All ball players, 2 with speed, 1 proper get into em defender in Greaves, a calm chilled Wolfy and O'shea to ping the balls to our widemen. I think Axels great, but there's something not quite there for me, so think this could be the thought process with the defence from KM. [Post edited 1 Sep 2024 10:18]

He's been good, and It's not saying he deserves to be dropped of anything but I don't feel he nor Wolfy can get diags going or spraying balls into our widemen to get them going which I think you need at this level.. Axel works well with whoever he plays with, defends solidly, i just think on the ball he's fairly limited. I'll watch him a bit more closely next game if that's not a description many agree with as it might just be i've not watched him enough specifically but ive felt he plays the simple pass more than tries anything else.

Whilst it would mean removing Tuanzebe on 10:22 - Sep 1 with 4245 views | NthQldITFC | Axel has successfully been converted into a fullback (or pretty much a fullback anyway) and has been reassuringly solid and swift for us so far. Has O'Shea ever played at fullback? Or are you proposing changing our system which we've just proved works against the non-stellar teams in this division? I assumed O'Shea was going to replace Woolfenden, but the way Woolfy has started he's going to have to stay on the bench for now, and that's as it should be. Burgess was great but Greaves is a big step up in some aspects of the game so that was a straight swap. But Woolfy and O'Shea, whilst having different strengths, are probably fairly equal players and Woolfy is top notch at the moment.

He's started driving inside a bit more recently - certainly once he's got the measure of the game. I thought he got us up the pitch quite well at times yesterday. With how we play I think that side of the pitch relies a lot on the relationship with whoever is in the Burns/Ogbene role and with the later only just arriving it will take a while to build.

I don't personally view his role as fullback, we are more of a 3 at the back so he's more of a wide centre back, which I don't is that much of an adjustment for a cb if O shea hasn't done it before. Im mainly speaking out as I dont see wolfy being dropped and neither should he, but can't see us benching o shea for what we paid, so for me the three of them together would make sense and possibly give us that zipped outball that brings in our wideman quicker. But not exactly a pressing matter so if it doesnt happen its not the end of the world, just what I think may happen in time. [Post edited 1 Sep 2024 10:30]

Think there's some parallels between Donacien/Tuanzebe and Clarke/Johnson with the latter name player being an uplift on the former. JD/Axel - more solid defensively, very good 1 v 1, more limited going forward Clarke/Johnson - offer more going forward, progressive runs/passes, getting in the box more but lose something in the 1v1 department.

Whilst it would mean removing Tuanzebe on 10:53 - Sep 1 with 3884 views | bluesym | I personally wouldn't take Tuanzebe out of that backline, I think he's really grown as a player as he's got fitter and fitter with runs of games (including last season) and I really like he's athleticism. Woolfenden has really stepped up too and Greaves is just immense! I think O'Shea will have to bide his time for a while yet.

Whilst it would mean removing Tuanzebe on 11:02 - Sep 1 with 3804 views | BloomBlue | I would have to see that in an actual game. I would be concerned 3 CHs would naturally drift centrally leaving too many big gaps on the wings when teams counterattack. Although, I could be convinced after watching it in an actual game. I've seen CashCity play that setup occasionally, interesting when Pep does he always includes Walker in those 3. He seems to prefer having a fast RB in the 3 rather than 3 CHs.

I noticed Tuanzebe more in the second half, perhaps he is one to get the opposition attacker(s) in his back pocket first before he tries any of that fancy down the wing work ?

Really? I thought he got done easily by their player who then crossed for Adama to score. He did OK, but not MoTM for me

Whilst it would mean removing Tuanzebe on 12:30 - Sep 1 with 3462 views | Len_Brennan | I think he plays a key role for us, as a full back/centre back on the right side of defence, depending on the play. The signing of Ogbene, to cover for Burns, tells us how important having that flexibility, on that side is. Ogbene/Burns are attacker who effectively can operate as wingbacks, Tuanzebe shifting into a 3 alongside Woolfenden/O'Shea & Greaves, allowing Davis more licence to get forward. I can't see any of our other options playing that role as well.

I think we did, he’s a definite upgrade on edmundson, doesn’t mean he replaces Wolfy but that we have x2 starters in each role. As we’ve seen, r impact is that Wolfy elevates his performance which is great for the team.

Have to disagree. He played well but was partially at fault for the first and was caught out of position a couple of times. But would I replace him with O'Shea? No.
