Excuse my laziness but has there been any firm indication of when Hirst is likely to be back in contention as yet?

McKenna said in his last press conference that he’ll be coming on with 10 to go against Southampton and will assist Clarke for the 96th minute winner.

Burns on similar timescale to Broadhead from what I gather, mid-September so may well be in the squad next week.

Burns or Hirst?

If we could have all three back for Brighton that would be excellent.

You'd think so wouldn't you. £xx million on a striker who can't play for another 8 weeks or just wait for your own injured players to return in half that time. Bit of a no brainer I reckon.

I've no doubt that a Broja like striker will be high on the list come January or next summer (when we'll have even more buying power)

I wonder if we might go back in for Latte Lath as a different kind of option

Depending on how we are doing on the goals front I guess. If we need someone, then they will arrive in January. If we are doing ok without, then expect them to arrive next summer. Pretty sure McKenna and those who can, will already be working on it.

In the TownTV interview with Kieran pre-Fulham he says they hope to see Burns in the next round of fixtures i.e between international breaks.

Who would be a "Broja like" striker that we could bring in then though? Fotis Ioannidis isn't any more likely to agree a move here in January than he was during the summer, when it appears we were willing to meet the transfer fee his club were asking for.
Latte Lathe is a different type of forward; althougb he would certainly add a potency to our options.

In January we might be looking secure in the league. That would make us a more attractive proposition for potential new signings including Fotis.

Or you could look at it another way.
Knowing that Hirst would be coming back, and adding in the international breaks, would mean that Town knew that the loss of Broja for a few weeks would not be a significant penalty to us. Instead it could have allowed us to push for a lower price with no real downside.
