Given that L.Macari is playing at fullback, anything is possible! (I assumed it was Lou Macari's son. It turns out it's his grandson. I'm old.)
Another brace for Didsy. on 19:07 - Sep 7 with 3683 views | MVBlue | Didsy is in League one now? At 36? Notts County. Hes wayyy too good for that league. Mans a legend.

Another brace for Didsy. on 19:30 - Sep 7 with 3642 views | DanTheMan | My favourite player of that era, was so good to watch. Would love to see what McKenna would do with prime McGoldrick. Saw him a few months back in my local co-op, had to do a bit of a double take.

I’m happy McGavin is finally having some fun. Until recently he only ever seemed to play in teams in the doldrums.
Another brace for Didsy. on 05:31 - Sep 8 with 2913 views | franz_tyson | Fair play to him in keeping it going..... but when Didsy's contract ran out and he left, I couldn't recall that much upset from the fanbase. Feeling was that he was always injured and he was an expensive waste of time. I think many are being a bit too nostalgic about him from an ITFC point of view. I think he took the p1ss a bit with us. Never fit and didn't want to settle here in Suffolk. He gave an interview after he left where he mentioned how easy it was here at Town as if you could get away with stuff and you didn't have to give everything. Class player, but never fit..... yet after he left and moved closer to home he was always fit. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Was a sicknote for us.Great player who never was on the pitch...all his injuries cleared up as soon as he got to Sheffield ....The club should have hired him a chauffer driven stretch limo back to tge Midlands where he lived when with us ...as his excuse was the driving up there when not training here ....he was poor value for what we paid him for sure

Such nonsense. He had a flat in Ipswich. Any player can get unlucky with injuries eg is Hirst now a “sick note”? [Post edited 8 Sep 2024 15:30]

Another brace for Didsy. on 16:44 - Sep 8 with 2319 views | OldFart71 | Might get down arrows. But it was strange how he was out for such a huge part of his career at Town. Went to Sheffield Utd where he was a regular first team starter. Yes he was a very good footballer. Just that Town didn't see much of his talent. But then we had a period under Marcus Evans and several Managers where we seemed to be the club to go to if you were in the last years of your career and needed to top up your pension fund whilst spending a majority of your time at PR on the treatment table.

He spoke about this on a podcast a couple of years ago and said how essentially, the medical department at Ipswich at that time was non existent. It was just one man and a table basically. It wasn't just him either, so many players at the time were regularly injured who then went on to be much fitter after leaving us. Didzy was a class act.

When you watched him during matches he was head and shoulders on presence, calmness and quality above the other players Reportedly Mick wanted to make sure we kept him and one thing Evans did do was refuse a big money bid from Leicester for him. Did you see the horror tackle the Sheffield Wednesday player made on him that took him out for months? that killed our season that year. Injury problems do not discount a great player. When times are glum you keep going to matches or tuning in to watch for the players you like and he was the reason.

Glen Loovens. One of the worst tackles I have seen at a football game that. Think he ripped Didzy's groin or something. Didn't even get sent off. Still angry about that.

I reckon Hirst has been injured at least 50% of his time at iTFC, so in answer to your question, yes he is.
