Tuanzebe's injury 13:38 - Oct 8 with 4188 viewswaveneyblue

Made me think of the time Ian Marshall fell off a stool in the bookies.

Footballs moved on a bit since then

(And not for the better)

Didn't he also drop a tin of beans on his foot in the supermarket, or was that someone else? Or did I make it up?

Thought it involved a shopping trolley but I may be wrong.

Am I making this up or did Dave Beasant break his big toe dropping a bottle of salad cream on it?

Edit: not making it up. It happened.

Was it the Spanish keeper on the eve of the World Cup who dropped a glass bottle of aftershave on his foot?

That sounds familiar. I also think he injured himself once while warming up before a game where he tripped over a sign saying "please do not warm up in this goal"

This thread has made me think there could surely be a decent 'Mishap 11'.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Would have been at Portman Road back then, Playford Road was bought in late 1990s.

Kieron Dyer at West Ham, one of those bendy poles you run in and out of in training flicked him in the eye and put him out for a few weeks I think?

On a similar note, Dave Beasant dropped a jar of salad cream on his foot and severed a tendon in his big toe.

Colin Viljoen always seemed to be injured at Christmas. If I remember correctly just before the Boxing Day match against Luton he had an accident with his golf clubs.

Were they not using Bent Lane in the early - mid 90s?

Just googled it. Santiago Canizares, the Spanish keeper, managed to severe a tendon in his right foot on the eve of the 2002 World Cup after dropping a bottle of aftershave.

The article also mentions Steve Morrow breaking his collarbone celebrating Arsenal's 1993 League Cup win, Ever Banega injuring his ankle after being run over by his own car and Jerome Boateng aggravating a knee complaint in a collision with an airline drinks trolley.

Possibly, I could be wrong on that. Playford Road academy opened in 1998, if I remember rightly, but they may have been using the pitches on the other side before that.

That Steve Morrow moment was peak Tony Adams donkey period…I think it was the crowning moment. IIRC
