I am not sure why people put any stock in this whatsoever. Maybe they are just fed up with social media or doing a bit of housekeeping.
Does anyone seriously think that a player like Burns, who we took in League One, transformed into a fantastic Championship player, who has won back to back promotions, is adored by the fans and manager, loves the club and the area is not throwing his toys out of the pram after being heavily involved in our Premier League campaign, despite all reports suggesting he's an incredible professional and character.
Then add to that exactly the same of Broadhead who has just done the very same thing. Amazing pro, top character, loves the club, just back from injury and he's decided to have a tantrum because he's not been that involved yet?

Wesley Burns has been a true modern legend for Town over the last 2/3 years, an unbelievable player for us.
I had seen a few bits of nonsense from some fans about him on X, and perhaps related to that.
The man can do no wrong in my eyes, for what he has done for this club along with the like of Morsy, Chaplin, Davis, McKenna.

Apologies if I read your initial comment wrong, I thought it seemed a very particular thing to take issue with, hence my response.
I've thought for a few weeks something looks off when he plays, but it's not due to ability, it's his choices on the pitch - he has looked less likely to be as direct as he is when he's at his best, not showing for the ball as much as he has done in the past. It's not a slight on him at all, and I haven't meant anything I've said to be negative - I just think he is at his best when he is confident, and he looks a little way off that. I would imagine him deleting his Instagram posts has more to do with the amount of criticism he's received - although I must admit I haven't seen anything over the top, not to say that it hasn't happened. | | | |

I too think he hasn't been quite right since his return from injury but I think we need to remember that he has had 2 lengthy layoffs due to hamstring issues in the last 12 months. I suspect any issues he may have in his head when playing could be to do with distrust in his body at the moment. He has barely beat his man by turning on the afterburners at all this season. |  | | |

I don't think it's that uncommon for players do this sort of 'reset'. From a mental skills perspective it can be about focussing 100% on the future rather than looking back at the past, regardless of how good that past might have been. | |

I don't think it's a prem level difference causing it as he was always rapid running onto a ball, but he's lost a good 2 yards of pace. Maybe a little bit of time out needed to recover properly? Because when you suffer multiple injuries to the same muscle which has been caused by running at full pelt quite often you're scared that running at full pelt will cause a recurrence. This is not physical it's just mental. Now I'm not saying that this is 100% the case, it could be that the injuries have caused a loss of pace...but Burns was the same last season on his return from the same injury his best game after that was the final game of the season, even then he seemed reluctant to let it rip at any given opportunity.
I suspect he will get up to speed soon and return to his best after that. | | | |

Clearing the Instagram grid is the new social media fashion. Celebs often do not do it because it’s part of their brand, hence it’s noticeable when our players do it. However, a lot of people clear old posts. Nothing to see, and a shame that a player of Wes’ importance to us is being put under a microscope.
