Bored on the train to London and having a discussion with a mate. What’s some niche/finer things in football crowds that you really enjoy?

My pick - when you’re on top, and win a corner, and there’s a resounding COME ONNNN from the crowd. Even better if the opposition clear the ball and it’s at your CB’s feet on halfway with a “come on”

My pals - a good rendition of Edward Ebeneezer on an awayday.

The random silliness that pops up and has everyone laughing. Two events from successive trips to Doncaster:
* Toure giving his shirt away before realising there was extra time.
* A presumably coked up bloke in his work trousers and shirt climbing across all the exec boxes on his own to get to the away fans - only for the stewards to pull a tarpaulin tight over the seats below so he slid right into their arms before being marched out of the gate.

Have a great day in the smoke and bring us the points home.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

A unanimous shout of “HANDBALL!!”

I was late to a game once, and heard that just as I was walking across the car park between Portman Rd and Axa.
It was followed a second later by a loud cheer, so it was clearly a penalty awarded to us. Knowing how long there usually is before the kick is then taken, I legged it across the car park and got in just in time to see Marcus Stewart miss the spot kick. No problem though, as we went on to win 6-1 v Leicester.

Another time it happened was against Sunderland, except it was a penalty to them. Again, I got in the SBRL just in time to see Marcus Stewart miss the penalty..

I remember that Toure incident. Donnie away was always good.

I was staying in a B&B for that match and as it was a little out of town I'd stuck my pushbike in the boot and cycled to the match. After the match I got a few surprised looks from fellow Town supporters when I unlocked my bike from a lamp post and cycled off. I think a few had assumed I was cycling back to Suffolk that night!

Along those lines but the chorus of SHOOT.

It's almost like a reflex or some weird brainwave where everyone does it in unison.

I remember a while back there being a random announcement during the matc asking for someone to speak to the stewards. Can't remember his name but for some reason the whole crowd started laughing and calling his name. Admittedly it was probably the only entertainment we were getting back then.

An Ipswich penalty! No wonder that was a couple of decades ago. Nearly a rare as a dodo.

9 times out of 10 it’s by idiots when shooting is not the best course of action….

I remember one from years ago where an announcement came over the PA asking for "Joe Bloggs (exact name I cant remember now!), please report to a steward. Your friend is outside and says you have his ticket". The whole NS suddenly started singing "Joe Bloggs what a w*nker, what a w*nker...".

Hilarious!

I often wonder if Steve Finch ever made it to the nearest steward

To me, the pivotal moment of that run in! After the Lord Mayors show of the Charlton romp, this game was supposed to be a breeze, setting us up for , was it Posh? Didn’t pan out like that, but Broady kept his nerve to give us a huge 3 points.

Felt a lot more drawn out at the time as well, compared to the relative speed of the incident on the highlights.

It felt like a good ten seconds between the third handball shout and the penalty finally being awarded.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.
