Very defensive. Iasume it will be three at the back, two wingbacks, two in midfield, two tens and a forward.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

It's the usual thing. Drop one of the stalwarts at the earliest opportunity, even if they're doing well. Although he did well against Leicester, if we're playing 3-4-2-1 I'd have preferred to see Chaplin at 10 to Hutchinson.

Great to see Tuanzebe back, though.

4-3-3?

4-3-2-1, when we’re out of possession, we went with that at Brentford, and it worked well till Ogbenne was injured. In possession, Davis and Johnson push on, Smozdiks and Omari supporting Delap

Like this. 5 2 2 1 basically.

Poor old McKenna, has repeatedly gone to lengths to explain that we don't play 3 or 4 at the back, more it's a hybrid of the two and fans still can't work it out.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Normal formation, just got Johnson as more defensively minded right flank player

Agree. Perhaps he didn't fall over properly when he was clattered against Leicester.

BJ could be playing in the Burns role with no changes in formation but will very defensive.

Pretty harsh on Chaplin.

It's not that at all, do you really think Mckenna is that petty?

It's tactical, and nothing to do with the previous game. Spurs are a very strong and fast attacking team, especially at home and its the type of game Chappers could easily get lost in. He has clearly gone for our best runners and/or most defensive minded players.

Somehow I think KM might know better than anyone on here.

What is lost amongst some is that being on the bench and coming on later is not being dropped.

It's also a game where chappers first time passing could get us up the pitch and at goal.

Genuinely surprised to see us go away v spurs. Play a defender who's not played for a month or so, drop the link in the forward line the past two games and revert to our unthreatening hutchinson in the middle.

Very surprised

He's not been dropped. McKenna has made a tactical change. I doubt we will see much possession today which won't suit Chaplin. He's at his best when we have the ball and are pinging it around the edge of the opposition box.

Yes well you do lose the intelligent passing of Chaplin I agree, but its a call the Manager has to make. Lets see how it pans out but in all honesty we are up against it today whoever starts.

With Axel (hooray!) and Johnson both in, it very much looks like a hybrid this week more than most. When we need Johnson back we've got 3 CBs, and when he goes forward, Axel slides over to cover on the right. Sure, Johnson is not as attack minded as a Burns, or even Davis on the left, but he had a much better game last time out, and I think this looks interesting, especially away at Spurs when we'd be expected to have to work very hard indeed.
