Delap - off in January? 16:56 - Nov 10 with 7218 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

It was hinted at the the end of the game in the studio that someone would come in for Delap in January as he's impressed so much in a very difficult start for us.
Is this media talk or what's the possibility of some players who have impressed at this level being tempted elsewhere or do we have faith that we'll keep everyone KM wants in January?

The move is working really well for him. I don't see a scenario where any move would be seen beneficial for him in Jan. Ok well he may get a mega paydeal of course ... But he's playing week in week out and system suits him and he's scoring. I've no worries on this one. Could definitely see him going in the summer though :(

Think we are already talking £50 million if he scores 15 goals this season. His influence and power in games and his potential.

It would probably cost £60 million to get him in January.
So no I can't see it.

£60m. Town would be nuts to let him go for that tbh

Man City don't have the option to buy him back at a ridiculously low price do they?

City are probably the one club in the "big six" we wouldn't have to worry about.

They've got the most destructive centre forward in world football right now and, even if they.did want to go to the market to find a spare, they'll be shopping in a different league to the likes of Liam Delap.

He's got all the tools to be a fabulous player, but City will want someone ready to go, straight out of the box and that's not our boy.

I believe it’s actually a first refusal clause. So whatever offer we accept they are given a choice to match it or not.

They have a sell on supposedly around 15% so basically if they want him they get a discount on him. I can see United, Newcastle possibly even Spurs being the sort of clubs fighting over him

Why on earth would we sell him?!

Zero chance he’s going anywhere.

Very true actually

Make it 100 minimum.

That’s the spirit. But that will rise to £150M after he fires us to a Champions League victory

Talking of forwards, Chris Wood is getting loads of love-in from Arsenal fans on 5 Live. I’d have never predicted that from his loan here.

At the time of the transfer it was widely reported as City having a release clause, not a matching clause (which is what Villa had with Philogene).

Which means if City offer whatever is written in the contract we have to accept. But you'd expect that to be around £50m (~3x the original transfer fee) and generally these are tied to specific transfer windows. The sell on % becomes irrelevant because its whatever that figure states.

Enjoy him whilst he's here.

No chance he goes yet. KM is crafting him and he knows that's only a good thing.

Liam Delap is simply incredible. One of my favourite players for many many years and a genuine top class footballer. A total joy to watch.

Pretty incredible return so far for a newly promoted, relegation favourite team.

Joint 7th top scorer after a quarter of the season. Heady heights. I hope he prefers to be a big fish in the smaller pond, at least until the end of the season.
