Depends what you class as OK tbh

We've got schools with 30 pupils to a class. Imo and it's just personal opinion, that's to many.

Erm...we had 30 in a class when I was at Copleston in the late 80s/early 90s...seems pretty standard for class sizes.

It does seem to be, that no party is able and/or willing to significantly improve the living standards of the less wealthy in society. It's little wonder they cling on to the false promises and lies of dishonest and racist politicians.

Stop the rich hoarding wealth.

I listened to it on the radio, and thought she did OK, and certainly much better than the first two times.

At the end of the day, PMQs, when it comes to the opposition, is really only about getting a soundbite which might play well on the 6 O'clock news.

Incidentally, PMQs is not necessarily easy for an opposition leader, although Hague was good at it. Indeed, you see it with Starmer who seems much more comfortable at PMQs now he is on the other side.

Tbh does it matter who leads the Tory party?

Who ever stands opposite starmer will just be met with the same non answers to any questions anyway and get the auto Labour response of..

Starmers latest bit of parliamentary fun is responding to other MPs about how nice it is to see them in parliament. Which is quite funny considering he's spent most weeks on his jollies since he was made PM.

Kimmy may be bad but so is starmer.

Surely the majority of what remains of the party would want someone who hasn't fallen for all of this Tufton Street culture war business?

Besides Farage already owning it, the GE showed that the UK public weren't as enamoured with it as they are in the US, surely a return to principals (and vague respectability) would be what appeals?

Not sure what it means but I note that both Dan Hodges (Mail on Sunday) and Matthew Stadlen (Telegraph), who were pretty staunchly Tory right the way up to Sunak, both seem to have pivoted against the more right wing element of the party too. Hopefully that signals a slightly reversion to to mean for the right wing press but could also just be personal preference, will be interesting to see what plays out.

We've got schools with 30 pupils to a class. Imo and it's just personal opinion, that's to many.

According to this - https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/school-pupil

"The average class size for infant pupils (reception, year 1 and year 2) remains stable
Infant class size has decreased slightly to 26.6 from 26.7 from 2023 to 2024. This reflects a period of general stability in infant class sizes since 2020/21. There is a statutory limit of 30 pupils in an infant class."

The average infant class size has remained stable for almost 10 years. Falling birth rates may see it drop a bit. Or they may see it increase as some schools won't get enough numbers and associated funding to run several classes when each has 23-24 in so they end up running fewer classes with more children in.

There's no party, no leader that's with voting for. The whole thing is fked no matter which party governs.

The way life works now it can't be reversed, the Internet has replaced the need for most shops. Inventions like the self checkouts have replaced thousands of jobs. Online banking has taken away high street banks. More Jobs gone. Hospitality is fked so more are closing again More jobs gone.
Brexit has bugered care sector employment a big part of the lack of beds in hospitals etc etc
Utility costs are sky high which no party can bring down
House prices and rents are sky high no one can afford anything
Prisoners released early, many with no where to go. No support and many will reoffend just to get off the street ( I know one personally and they know many)
Climate change Is not our problem, according to governments it seems, someone else can deal with it in 100 years time.
Uk isn't built for such a level of car and lorry transportation. The roads can't cope
The UK isn't big enough for the volume of residents. Let alone the influx if immigrants awaiting processing or those who've passed
Schools are not big enough to cope with the volume of pupils
Hospitals not big enough to cope with the volume of people

So no. I don't want a tory government back in
I don't want a labour party
I don't want a reform party

There is no party that can fix what the UK and parts of the world has become. To much has gone wrong imo that it can't be fixed.
The latest labour NI chances won't work. It'll have the opposite effect. We will then have a reverse budget in a year which will have no effect either.

So no my original post wasn't about Kimmy being better. I've amended it as that wasn't my intention, It's the fact none of them are worth giving to shts about as they don't just say it as it is and that the world is fked it needs a reset.

Yes Appreciate the average is lower than my wording, I wasn't saying all schools, just that we have schools with 30 kids into a class, we've got 3 this end that regularly are over populated with kids mainly due to staff shortages etc so pupils are going into mixed classes quite often.

I get that Labour, starmer has its fans, I get Tories have their own, I just find it difficult to think of any reason to give two shts about any of them when imo there's not much any party can do to actually save the uk from what the world has become.

Labour will do things that aren't popular, conservatives would do the same, same with reform same with all others. The fact that they all come into power and things don't actually end up positive isn't a slight on those in power, it's just realism that there isn't much any of them can do about things.

When I was at Castle Hill Primary in the Sixties I was in a class of, I think, forty six.

Try telling that to the kids today...

Just like in the States, I was bussed to school in the 60s.

Admittedly it wasn't for racial reasons. Living on Broke Hall Estate, with Britannia School full up, coaches were laid on to takes us to and from Clifford Road School in the mean streets nearer to the centre of Ipswich.

There's a school near me that currently has 12 kids in its reception class. It's numbers have gone from c600 a few years ago, to c300 now. It's a struggling school, with a head who's just left in disgrace, but all the same... Also heard of two primaries which have shut in Hackney recently, which has been blamed on the falling birth rate.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

When we played five a side in the playground we had to keep the numbers down to twenty five. Asphalt playground, didn't stop goalies from diving. And there were twelve inch iron spikes every metre. No milk at playtime, we had to drink a third of a pint of sulphuric acid.
