Just having a thoroughly shtty time of it.
A good family friend lost his battle with Parkinson's on Monday. I obviously knew he was unwell, but actually losing him came as far more of a surprise than it should.
Last night some absolute weapon killed my cat in a hit and run. My kids are absolutely distraught.

Man, running over a cat and just leaving it is low. I'd be so angry if someone did that to my cat. I guess they're just an animal to many but to the families they belong to, its devastating.

That's devastating. So sorry. I was really angry when I lost my friend to MND a few years back, in her 50s. I've lost others to cancer too. It really rips your guts out, doesn't it?
And I don't care what anyone thinks, your pets are family. I've seen a few cats on the A14 this year, and I well up when I see them, because that cat meant the world to their owner.

I've never understood in the UK why you're legally* required to stop if you hit a dog but not a cat. Purely from the wellbeing of the cat or any animal
*appreciate even drivers who hit dogs don't always stop even though legally they should. |  | | |

Thoughts are with you mate, that's a tough week.
One of our cats was run over in the summer, the bloke had the decency to stop and knock on doors to find her home, and it wasn't his fault at all, but didn't change how devastated me and Ms Dub were.
It's utterly inconsequential compared to your week, but hopefully the town can win tomorrow and give just a little light in an otherwise dark week. |  |

Cats are classed as wild and you don't legally own a cat, I know that sounds strange but was told by a policeman when our neighbour tried to claim criminal damage from our cat jumping onto his car bonnet everyday! We couldn't be held responsible.

Thanks all.
Just needed to blow off some steam. Was WFH yesterday and feeling a bit isolated.
Took my lad to football training last night, got him home and in bed then went to the pub and got sloshed. It's not big or clever, but had a few friends who just helped make it all a bit less sht.
