If this is true from KM, it’s incredible 19:39 - Dec 14 with 4653 viewsghostofescobar

KM’s post match said “ It’s our fifth player now who has scored in every division in English football [top four] or think there’s 10 or 11 in history and we’ve got four of them, so that’s a testament and a statement to the group.” That is absolutely incredible! What a testament to this group, and our manager.

Jack Taylor is a member of the five divisions club as of today.

Scored eleven times in the National League with Barnet. Could have made it six divisions if he'd netted during his short spell in the National League South with Hampton & Richmond Borough.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

The numbers of others who have done it is miles off, I looked it up and it’s lots and lots of players. Might be less of just using PL goals and not top 4 tiers but isn’t 10 or 11

Is that including the pre-Premier League days, as I reckon it's far more difficult to it nowadays than before 1992, when the playing field was more level.

Lots have done it since - including Marcus Stewart, Hermann and Tommy Miller who all scored in UEFA for us

That stat was mentioned on the radio a couple of weeks ago, although I only caught the end on the conversation and missed the actual stat. In that they talked about players who have scored moving up the leagues versus those who scored as they've moved down the league.
For example some players have scored in Champ & Prem and then towards the end of their careers as they've moved down the leagues with other clubs have played/scored in L1 & L2
But a lot less have scored firstly in L2, then L1, then Champ, PL.

So not sure if the 10/11 being quoted only covers those players who have scored in all 4 leagues as they moved up through the leagues?
Note: they did say PL era only.

I don’t think Hermann scored, or even played, in league one.
Miller may have played in all four but did he score in every one?

But I’m pretty sure Marcus Stewart has played and scored at every level!

Hermann played and scored in the old second division (now League One) for Brentford in 1999/00. A check of Wiki confirms he did indeed score in all 4, surprisingly despite his frequent relegations the Championship was the last to tick off in 2010/11

Miller did too, League One completed his set in 2010/11. He never scored in League Two but notched regularly in Division 3 which later became League Two in the late-90’s

Maybe the 10/11 is those that have done it since all of the leagues were rebranded to their current versions (completely meaningless if so), or maybe it’s just made up!

But who did Hermann score for in the old Div4 (what is now Div2)?

Not saying he didn't but I'm only asking because I cannot find who he scored for in what was the 4th tier of football. It appears he joined Brentford when Brentford was in the 3rd tier of football (irrelevant of division name) not 4th tier.

Although as you it's probably confused with the various league name changes

As discussed below, that stat didn’t look right for the total number of players. BBC piece here on Taylor and the top five division part:

I'm surprised if Freddie Sears hasn't scored in the top six levels, maybe seven. (Are Chatham level 7 or 8?)

(And all done without leaving Essex by more than about 15 miles!)

He joined Brentford in the old 3rd Division (which is the 4th tier), then promoted into the 2nd division (third tier) with them

I think the stat is for players who have worked their way up, with the Prem being the last of the divisions to score. Plenty have done it in reverse when their career has pitted out i'm sure.

Still seems an incredibly low number, as the 3 other Ipswich examples likely scored in all 3 other divisions before the PL goal

And can’t be in order as Szmodics scored in L1 before L2

HH also holds an interesting alternative record!

From Wikipedia:

Hermann was relegated from the Premier League five times, a record he holds jointly with Nathan Blake. He was relegated with every Premier League club he has played for: Crystal Palace (1997–98 season), Wimbledon (1999–2000), Ipswich Town (2001–02), Charlton Athletic (2006–07), and Portsmouth (2009–10).

I've looked for definitive table but, as you say, is absolutely loads. Steve Bull off the top of my head is another and as mentioned in another thread, Jamie Cureton scored in the top nine!
