Do we know what the issue is? We haven't heard any more than a knock have we? Been fit enough for the bench in the last 3 games but not got a minute on the pitch.
You'd normally expect a club in our position to be trying to rush back a player of his calibre who is costing us a large chunk of change to have here. But seems we must be really trying to manage him and get him fully fit behind the scenes?
If we can get him at his best in the second half of the season, that is almost going to be like a new signing for us and should make a big difference. |  | | |  |

Can you give a case where the medical staff have not done their job? I am assuming you have some professional expertise that leads you to that conclusion. |
It was a ridiculous statement, I think since KM arrival we have for the most part managed players really well, apart from Hirst who played on after both his significant injuries, but maybe that’s more on the player than anyone else. |  |

He’s on the bench because we have no other cover and professionals have to play when called upon even when not 100% fit. |
I know we have a lot of injuries but there are still fit players that we can put on the bench. Surely it's better to have Luongo, Woolfenden or even a youngster on the bench rather than a player that's never going to be sent on as he's not fit enough. It's nonsensical! |  | | |

You may not have noticed, but we have a lot out due to injury - some injuries that count them out completely for weeks and months. Filling the bench right now is tough, and it would seem that some are being put on the bench as a safeguard should they be needed, and considered ok to play limited minutes if needed.
Otherwise they are protected, and left on the bench if not absolutely needed. | | | |

Luongo was carrying a knock the last I heard. Others cover different positions. We also have no idea how many are affected by the illness in the camp.

woolf was on the bench and luongo is also not fully fit. an injury to morsy would leave us short without phillips to come on | |

By the way, I am not criticising the management, I'm saying surely he's fit enough and there's some other reason (mental issues etc.) so they don't want to push him but feel being in and around the squad befits him and us more than putting another player on the bench. | | | |

"If we can get him at his best". Why us? Are we not paying him enough? Maybe it's up to him - not us.
We've put a lot of faith in him as well as a big chunk of cash. What we are paying him and his calibre - he should be the first name on the teamsheet. I know some are a bit star-struck by him being here, but I'm still under-whelmed.
It's great he seems a good squad member and was celebrating yesterday, but we didn't get him to be a happy squad-filler - we got him to make a difference on the pitch and be our best player. Maybe even replace Morsy as inspirational leader. Sorry, but now he's slid behind Cajuste and Taylor. Don't want to piss on anyone's chips after a rare win, but I want to see more from him. If its possible to cut the loan short in January and maybe add more to the coffers to get a new striker and/or RB, I'd do it in a shot. |

I think it highlights how good are medical team actually are, players are getting injured as youd expect given the intensity of the league, and we're treating & managing their rehab properly
its the teams who seemingly dont get injuries you want to be questioning, because what are they doing to their players who undoubtedly are getting injuries too, to get them on the pitch every week
it was eye opening when it came to light how England gave Phil Jones 6 local anaesthetic injections to play one game, and not one person in football except for Mourinho who blasted the England medical team for doing it, as ultimately Jones ended up more injured, even questioned how out of the ordinary that was. ie it was considered the norm to dose players up with pain killers and multiple numbing injections to play football. | | | |

we have tho had a tendency to play players after they've got injured. Hirst. Burns as examples. |  |

Based on pictures and recent comments from Phillips. He feels loved again.
Yes financially he's been on a different level to what town could offer. But that money has come at a mental cost.
We've seen the positive culture at the club and there's no reason if we stay up why we couldn't attract Phillips to stay with us again. It could be seasonal loans until his contract ends for example.
It could be also that now we have cajuste and Taylor upto speed a bit we don't feel the need to risk phillips ass we did earlier in the season so when he does play we get to see a fitter version. | |
