More passes than executed attempts at holding the ball up. He was terrible last night. Of course going against some of the best defenders in the league he wasn't going to shine anyway, but he couldn't even do the basics last night and was so frustrating to watch. |  |

Yeah of course totally agree with the good runs bad runs etc. Just shows how important a striker signing is. It's quite possibly the biggest signing we've had to make under KMs time here tbh. | |

We defended for 80% of the game. What did you want him to do. He was also fouled 3-4 times before passing.

Yeah, agreed with all of that. He won’t be the last player to burst on the scene and then go off the boil a bit when he becomes a marked man and also e to cope with the run of games. I’d still like a seasoned striker. Shame we couldn’t get the Greek fella, as he seemed to tick all the boxes. |  |

Perhaps manager's are focusing on them more, which is putting them under additional pressure, but neither look the same player. I was right next to the home fans. One of them leaned across the gap between us to ask about Leif, because he thought he looked a good player. Was surprised how little we paid for him.

He surprised a lot of teams/managers at the start of the season, but as opposition mgrs were able to watch him more they've tweaked how their defence play against him. Initially CHs were giving him a bit too much space, then he started scoring, destroying them with little flicks and powerful runs, now mgrs are making sure the CHs are glued to his back.
KM and Town coaches need to help him adjust to that new approach and get back to causing the opposition problems |  | | |

That’s not true. Wolves was his last outing before yesterday and he was a right handful. Created the first goal from a nothing long ball, full of running and completely beat up their back line for 80 minutes. I think peoples expectations are through the roof because of how he started the season, but he’s generally been doing exactly what’s needed of a #9 in our system. His movement is so good. We missed him massively against Newcastle. Yesterday he was living off scraps. |  | | |

I don't just get excited because someone runs alot. If I did then I'd feel Al hamadi was brilliant.
Delaps ball control as the other poster has mentioned hasn't been great. His general passing isn't great. Countless times a pass is on and he ignores it.
His movement hasn't been that good. It may look it again as he's actually moving but he's not been picking the right spaces imo. Esp yesterday he was running into the wrong areas it wasn't about being stopped by arsenal.
Of course we missed him against Newcastle as we didn't have another option. But if I was only watching delap of the last month compared to earlier games he's definitely not as 'wow' as he looked when he was trapping everything. Shielding. Taking players on etc etc.
Obviously our opinions of course.. but at the moment if he was available I'd be having hirst in over delap. | |

Of course he’s not the finished article but then he’s 21 years old, cost £15m and was playing for Hull last season. It feels like some of our fans are expecting peak Rooney out of him, but as it is and the way he’s been playing he’s so so far from being the problem. He's a powerhouse and a good runner. Not disagreeing with that. His ball control etc however hadn't been great and he holds the ball to much when simple passes are on.
