I don’t know why you aren’t our chief scout with that kind of insight.

He's played 29 professional matches since 2022. Started once for Atlanta and was substituted.

There is no way he is up to speed or will get there quickly.

We need experience for sure but also confidence and assurance is essential for the defences confidence.....this doesn't smack of that.

We used to laugh at the scums porous defence when he was in it.

This is a Muric style signing

You wait til you find out he hasn't started any games for Atlanta.
No player arrives here fit, not KM levels of fit anyway.

All in all, its a bit of a daft post you've made there, "This is a Muric style signing", its almost as though you think McKenna doesn't actually know what we need.

There's nothing quite like writing a player off before he's even signed on the dotted line, yet alone even played a game for us!

Supporters are supposed to support our players not undermine them!

..lets hope it is a daft post and not a true one. We'll find out soon I guess.

Fitness isn't the main issue, it's important of course. I'm sure you'd agree that confidence is a big requirement both having it and exuding it. We don't have time to nurse players through at the moment.

I'm sure KM does know what he needs though it depends if MA can provide that.

This is a gamble

You hang onto blind faith if you like, I'd prefer a better track record on a player who hasn't signed yet, played for the scum for 5 years and got kicked out of Atlanta.

Why do you think his confidence is shot? Because he hasn't played much?
By that token surely Walton was low on confidence, or Wolfie, or Broadhead.

The fact is Godfrey hasn't started a game, but has made appearances from the bench, but then Atlanta are on a run of just two defeats in 18 in all competitions, Atlanta aren't going to change a winning team in that circumstance.

And sides that are successful have confidence running through the entire squad, you're being very short sighted about him.

Maybe.

But he had barely played for much longer before we signed him.

However, I trust your informed view far more than that of the recruitment team and KM. So lets find a bedsheet for the next game. "Godfrey out".

Should be noted that Atlanta played him in midfield on his debut which isn't his position. And very soon said he didn't suit their style. So not the best recruitment by them when after 6 weeks later they come out and say that. Did they sign the wrong player? You can't just shoe horn players into midfield and expect it to work. Not only that but it was against real Madrid too.

Let's see how he does playing in his natural position.

Signing any player is a gamble but trust in the fact that it’s been made with far more work by McKenna and Ashton than sitting on a laptop guessing that he’s not match fit and shot of confidence.

What a silly post. Its nothing like the Muric signing, well other than it would have been assessed thoroughly by our very professional Manager and staff and decided to be a signing that will offer something to the squad.

I would imagine that Godfrey has been training regularly even if not playing and that the staff will have a fair idea of his current fitness level. We are also not in desperate need for that position so if it takes a few weeks to get him up to speed then so be it.

KM has obviously decided that Godfrey can help us over the remaining 20 or so games and that is good enough for me, perhaps you should just have a little bit of trust in our Manager.

No. All cases are different obviously.

He's played less than 30 games in 3 seasons and only appeared once for Atalanta.

I remember laughing my ass off watching them through covid in the prem. I'm not saying BG was the biggest culprit but they were clownishly awful

I trust Everton fans views on him more than your guesswork and everybody elses on this thread.

Though if he does sign damn right I'll be supporting him for as long as he or they deserve it, maybe a bit longer actually
