Hitting the post was actually the worst thing that could happen as the ball was instantly back in play. A shot wide or saved would've given more time to reset.

I wondered myself. We don't always push for a 2 goal lead. We've protected one goal leads plenty of times over the last couple of years. Fine margins though - no issue of Clarke slots it in. |  |

It's worth remembering scoring a goal on a pretty inviting counter attack is also game management.
It was the right call to do it and the overlap from Leif opens up the shot. It's not even an issue Leif went for it, because he actually got back into a good position. But then he loses his head, and sticks a leg out. Luckily for him, not even the stupidest thing one of our players did in the match, Morsy taking that from him. |  |
