I always thought Philogene was a left sided attacker.
But we already have Jack Clarke and Nathan Broadhead.
Does the new boy play elsewhere?
Is he really what we need, regardless of whether we also buy a main striker this month?

Played predominately off the left for Hull and mainly off the right for Villa!

Even if he was only able to play on the left, do we think Jack Clarke has shown enough quality to be a consistent starter to help us stay in the Premier League? I’d suggest if he had, maybe we wouldn’t be going back for Philogene.
In combination with his versatility, huge potential, injuries to Ogbene, possibly Hutchinson and lack of fitness with Broadhead, it’s one of the most sensible and least head scratchable signings so far for me. [Post edited 9 Jan 8:47]

I suspect the manager wanted both before the season started.
Clarke is improving. He’s an exceptional player who KM wants to add to his game. We’ve really not seen the best of him yet as he has been bit part playing and not in his best position.
The question is would we have signed Ogbene if we’d been able to bring in Philogene? |  | | |

Do we play Broadhead and szmodics more central.
Jack Clarke I can see being offered back to Sunderland, or taking a sub position for the remainder of the season as he continues his development. It's obvious he has talent but it seems like he has struggled a bit with the step up. | | | |

Agreed. More options behind the main striker means we don't have to play him from the start. Hes more than adequate to come off the bench and do a job upfront. | | | |

That was a bad night but I don't think that happens with Delap on the pitch. Not Szmodics' fault of course, he was fighting a losing battle from the off. |  |
