Yes I know away games are different, but seriously…. It was embarrassing, there is no other word.
I travelelled back to oxfordshire with a load of Gas fans and they couldn’t believe it, “worst this season”, etc…. Easy to say of course.. but I believe them.
Fa cup, reserve side, etc…. No excuse.. just sing!

That may have been your perspective, but it simply isn’t the case. Another here in the West Stand and could hear nothing from them, bar a brief mention of Ed Sheeran. Thought it was odd they were so quiet, away day, FA cup potential upset etc
Section A on the other hand had a good long spell in the 2nd half, good to hear Massimo song again, wakka-wakka, EEJB, spirit in sky, etc guess it’s just down to acoustics. |  | | |

I watched the game via ESPN.
All I could hear was Town fans singing, and nothing much from the Bristol fans, but as most of us know, there are some strange acoustics in Portman Road.
Many games I have been sat in my usual seat in Cobbold B and after the game remarked to my travelling companions (I travel from Bristol) how noisy block A have been, and they claim to have heard nothing from the North Stand.
As has been stated already, there were a lot of fans today who wouldn't normally go to games. I didn't use my seat today as I decided against traveling from Bristol to Ipswich to watch our reserves against The Gas.
I don't recall The Mem having any kind of memorable atmosphere, in fact, it's probably one of the worst grounds I've been to (and not just when Town have played there).
It's easy to accuse any ground of having a poor atmosphere, isn't it?

Accrington fans probably said same yesterday v Liverpool. It’s what fans of little clubs do to feel somewhat important or relevant. |

Around me in the West stand there were a lot of young kids who don’t often have the opportunity to go to matches like most of us old’uns did when we were young.
It was nice to see, they’re our fans of the future! Bless them several times in second half there were high pitched ‘Blue Army’ chants spreading around the West and Sir Alf stands, reminiscent of the old Wembley school boy internationals!!!! | | | |

Give the historic crowd averages for the last 10 years or so - that's a lazy trope unless you are say about 7000-8000 sitting in the ground for every premier league game are also Bandwagon jumpers too?

I don't really care what a bunch of disappointed away fans found to find fault with after being outclassed by our reserve team when they'd travelled with high expectations of causing a cup upset.
The crowd was a bit quiet, but it happens. It was mostly due to the disjointed nature of the seating and many not being where they usually sit, and surrounded by fans who are not often there. It was a bit of a strange atmosphere, but nothing to be concerned about. |  | | |

I was in VU3 in Cobbold, I thought the Brizzle fans were pretty loud until they were a couple of goals down, then pretty quiet.
I could hear our fans from the other end of the Cobbold - again pretty loud at times (special mention to the drummer, whoever that is, they did a sterling job!), but also periods of almost silence, maybe because BR on the pitch offered absolutely nothing for anyone to get excited about.
Oh, and hearing a 'Blue Army' chant coming from SAR towards the end of the game...priceless!!! |  |

Well done to the club for the pricing initiative. My £5 senior citizen ticket was a bargain!
I was delighted so see so many young families enjoying the game and over 200 kids getting a certificate to mark their first game.
As I was leaving, a father asked his two little children if they enjoyed it. Their excited response was "Yes, can we go again". That can only be good for the future of the club! | | | |

Watching the youngsters looking in awe at Liam Delap as he warmed up by the West Stand reminded me of the excitement watching David Johnson 1st and Paul Mariner in awe struck wonder
They have their own hero's now and it's fantastic

That "Blue Army" from the SAR was down to a young boy, who could have been no more than 10, and his mates. After chanting for a few minutes, the young fella suddenly cried "keep it going", to which everyone laughed, then more and more joined in. Got quite loud for a few seconds until an incident on the pitch brought it to an end. Fair play to the young man who carried on chanting. | | | |

I didn’t hear them sing at all. Whatsoever.
But you didn’t hear our fans sing either. Block A did their usual thing of trying to drum up atmosphere.
But for me I knew it was going to be like this. I got out of my seat and clapped when we scored. It was an enjoyable and cheap afternoon of entertainment. In the PL I’m full on limbs. It’s how it should be.
Fair play to having a manager like ours who completely took the sting out of the game with a professional performance. | | | |
