Given his importance in that potentially keeping us up scenario, you would think any offer would have to be absolutely ludicrous to let him go right now.
The best (realistic) scenario for us is probably that he bangs a few more goals in between now and May, helps keep us up, and then a bidding war ensues in the summer and we milk it for a bumper price, and with enough of the transfer window left to reinvest the funds across the side. |  | | |

I'm confident he isn't going this window. He is happy, guaranteed a start and learning and progressing under McKenna. If we stay up I'd even suggest he may not go in the summer if we don't need to sell - if McKenna stays he way well decide he is the best coach to spend his early years learning under. |  | | |

I think the way PSR works, we probably won't have to get the deal out of the way early as long as we are fairly confident it's coming. We could spend the money across the side in the knowledge that Delap is bringing £50m+ in for us at some point in the future |  | | |

Exactly. It doesn't make sense to leave a club where you are settled, have your place in the starting line up and are constantly learning. If we stay up we will bring in players that will be quality additions. It is possible that he can grow with us. There are so many examples of bad moves made by promising players. | | | |

This is how I feel, and the lad seems quite sensible. The likes of Chelsea could eat him alive if he isn't an immediate hit with the fans - look at KDH, hardly featured. We think Delap is the best, but the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal demand trophies and many more goals and if he doesn't deliver then he'll be a benchwarmer or forgotten. He is so young, he can develop here then move to a so-called bigger club when he is less raw | | | |

It would be a very sensible career decision, even taking off one's blue-tinted glasses, assuming KMc is still here too. What better place for top grade young players to develop with excellent coaching AND very realistic expectations of significant PL game time - same applies Hutch, Greaves, Philogene (potentially), et al. |  |

Fair point, and you always face other clubs knowing how deep your pockets are once you've sold for big bucks. Either way my guess would be by the end of the summer window he's probably unlikely to be a Town player. My only hope is he leaves us as a premier league side and we get top whack for him so we can put it to good use across a couple of positions. | | | |
