It's been terrible for a number of home games now.

Queues were silly again last night with airport style security.
Having to allow much longer to get in.

Surely they also have to replace the doddery creaky old turnstiles with tap and go style as part of upgrading the ground in the summer.

Are we going to do this after EVERY match?

Every Premier League game is a target, not just for terrorist related activities but also for other groups such as JSO.

It's a really simple thing to solve too. Don't go to the first available turnstile and get into the ground earlier. I've not queued once this season and I'm not going in as soon as they open the gates.

Pee match email from the club said get there 90 minutes before the game and credited Suffolk police and security reasons. Have to wonder whether there is anything real behind it or is it as what "conspiracy theorists" would say is to engender insecurity.

They need more turnstiles and better organising outside to be able to provide the level of customer service attending fans should get.

What point are you trying to make??? I've been to every home game this season and that was the worst it's been all season. You shouldn't have to queue for 20-25 mins to get into the ground, that's more than sufficient time allowed to get in, was just way over the top last night when for other games you just go straight in without being searched etc.

You must be lucky, I'm sure we've been search for every home game this season

I didn't get searched/scanned before the Everton game. It's every game now and they find my Polos every time.

Didn't feel much different to any games this season tbh. The 7:30 kick off threw me, I don't like it. I also saw a bloke join a 10 person deep hot dog queue at 7:23 which I thought was a crazy life choice.

They don’t even search everyone and when they do they don’t do it properly.

Not needed and so OTT.

Get to game earlier and miss first two turnstiles.

Thought it was better than it has been when you've just had one person per turnstile checking everyone. Seemed to have learned their lesson in the Cobbold stand anyway as there were 3 people on my turnstile checking people in the queue rather than doing it one by one as someone got to the gate.

Think the main issue is just volume of people. Evening games naturally mean more people turn up a bit closer to KO as people are coming from work, picking up/dropping off kids etc. which means it takes longer for everyone to get in.

As I say appreciate it's not always possible, especially in the evening, but the club make it as clear as they can that people need to get to the ground in good time for a smooth entry.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Yes. Last night was completely over the top.
Asking people to empty their pockets. And a head to toe frisk. Leave their drinks. I told them that it was Ipswich not blinking Manchester. Not happy at all.

For North Stand Lower, at least, I tend to think of the nearest ones to the club shop as "the first two" and they do tend to be the busiest. I always go much further along, but I agree with the OP they were the worst (longest and slowest) I've seen them this season because of the extra security.

I also agree with others that the security is rubbish anyway, you could easily smuggle something in if you wanted to. It just feels like a box ticking exercise and a waste of everyone's time.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

The extra checks appeared after the Everton game I think. Evening kick offs always seem to have longer queues probably due to supporters work times mean more people turn up within a smaller time frame than for a afternoon game. A 7:30 kick off just makes this even worse, but broadcasters do not care about the supporters attending games, like the Man Utd game, Wednesday night 20:00 means a 22:00 match finish and the last train is 20:15, so it is a 4 1/2 hour drive home and hope there are no overnight roadworks.

They spent the Chelsea game filming the crowd.

There was yet another…. on 12:23 - Jan 17 with 2590 viewsBloots

….new queuing system in Churchman’s last night.

It was total gridlock getting past the memorial garden and towards the turnstiles.

They really need to sort it out, it’s gonna cause issues with the away fans being held on that corner too.

Chaos.

Going by the email they sent out on Wednesday I assume it was a very small backpack, size less than A4.

I didn’t go last Sunday but really haven’t noticed anything. We’re in Upper Sir Bob and arrive around 30 minutes before ko. Haven’t waited more than 10 minutes all season, so I don’t know whether it’s a timing issue or worse in some parts of the ground

One thing I've noticed in recent games is strategically placed vehicles and barriers, which I am not sure were there earlier in the season.

I did wonder if this were a response to the recent attack in Germany, or maybe it's just crowd control.

In addition, they appear to hold back much further the traffic on to way to the station but maybe this has been going on longer.

As regards, the queues, it's just people (like me) turning up too late, and behind SBR not helped by people going in two directions.
