KM confirmed muric was carrying an injury which restricted his kicking so with it being an important aspect of kms style it makes sense why muric was dropped for a bit. |

Walton hasn’t looked ropey at all except for against Brighton and a couple of minor points in other games. The defence looked much more comfortable. I know you have this narrative around Muric being a victim of KM’s instructions but he still has a brain in his head. I like Walton and I think he’s done well coming in at this stage of the season but there have been mistakes that Muric would have been absolutely slated for. He’s got credit in the bank (which he’s earnt) so people are overlooking the weaknesses. Whether Muric is the answer I don’t know, but if he could sort his head out he’d be a top-6 keeper. That’s a massive “if” though.

This is not intend to bash Walton, as he's done ok
BUT, your point isn't a strong endorsement of Walton. He's kept in only 3 games, and been unconvincing at times in all, the least convincing being Brighton. For Brighton I was on the edge of my seat a few times when the defence were playing back to him, and he was very slow to react to collect the ball, with an attacker closing him down. His hesitation was so obvious.
I rate both keepers, and each have their strengths and weaknesses, but we need to see Walton in more games at this level before any comparison on 'mistakes' is fair. | | | |
