Probably not a game to say too much about individuals 23:11 - Jan 19 with 1637 views | Vic | but I thought Godfrey was a bit slow in closing down and ooked a bit sluggish in getting back. Would like to have seen him bust a gut a bit more. [Post edited 19 Jan 23:11]

There's a reason why he never featured in the Prem for Chelsea much less said being a regular starter. We are buying and fielding a team of potential Prem players in Delap, Philogene, Hutch, J Clarke etc. but most of them are not ready for the step up yet.

Correct you can’t blame one player for that yesterday👍the whole team were chasing shadows after the first goal and were completely outclassed by citeh!

I think we have the quality and the desire in there just not the legs and physicality Watching Newcastle ( not this weekend obviously due to freak result) last weekend those 3 in the middle are quick , strong , physical , aggressive , intelligent , progressive and above all else Premier League savvy For me most of the games are invariably lost in midfield this season

Probably not a game to say too much about individuals on 08:18 - Jan 20 with 1078 views | GlasgowBlue | I completely disagree with you. He was badly let down by Johnson and often left with the job of two men. I watched back the first three goals a few times on Sky and this is my view. First goal. Why was Johnson in the box with the centre backs and not staying close to Doku who was in acres of space? We are already playing a hybrid system where the right back, Godfrey, tucks in with the centre backs which means the right wing back, Johnson, should be looking after Doku. Second goal. Johnson not tight enough to Doku and is slow to react to the pass to Doku. Can’t blame Godfrey who was tight to the player he was looking after, De Bruyne. Third goal: Godfrey heads away a ball intended for Doku, O’shea not strong enough when the header fals between him and a City player and is eased off the ball to easily. Johnson stands watching leaving Godfrey to mark two players in Doku and De Bruyne. Johnson now too far up the pitch and he literally jogs back. Even Morsy is running back faster than Johnson and gains about 5 yards on him. Johnson then basically gives up running. [Post edited 20 Jan 8:31]

Johnson was excellent for the first 25 minutes yesterday, snapping at Doku and giving him no space at all, then it all went horribly wrong after that! Appreciate he was a freebie, so can't be deemed an expensive failure, but I've been pretty unimpressed by Johnson. He's had a few decent games, but looks like a fairly average Championship level player rather than the level we need now.

The only standout game I can think of is when he linked up well with Tuanzebe. May have been Leicester?

Completely agree, not sure why he was kept on as his performance certainly didn’t deserve it.

Probably not a game to say too much about individuals on 09:24 - Jan 20 with 731 views | CityBlue | People pinpointing individuals would be warranted when there is an obvious divide in ability but for me this is not about individuals but about partnerships. The partnership between the LCB and the LWB The partnership between the pivot and the LM/LW The partnership between the CAM and the ST Each of the above could be accountable to a degree for yesterday. Add in we have had a change of formation from 4231 to a 3421 which at times is much more 451 These are all factors that need to be taken into account and relationships built upon. For now though the partnership that needs to remain steadfast is that of the fans and the team.

And that showed. He'll have a big role to play between now and the end of the season. Give the kid a break.
