9 goals conceded in 31 games. 10:24 - Feb 5 with 2180 viewsMatt_Netherlands

By the team from which we signed 40% of their defence in the summer. Ouch.

Absolutely insane record!

Yes, reflects the difference between the divisions and also Scott Parker's approach to football that makes Mick McGiven look like Kevin Keegan.

Number of draws probably means they will miss out on promotion automatically.

Think they had something like 5 0-0s in a row?

What it also shows though, is that sometimes a keeper is worth sticking with despite how bad their first season is! Trafford was awful last season, so much so that Burnley chose to drop him much like we have with Muric.

People forget that's how McKenna started out in his first half-season at Town. He made us hard to beat, with a lot of draws (8) and one-goal-margin wins (5).

Yep. Worth looking at their goals scored tally too, which is skewed by 5 goals in one game against Plymouth.

Ten 0-0s so far this season. An Oxford own goal prevented a fourth successive goalless home match last night.

I don’t really see how that will help them next season if they adopt the same approach. They can’t score goals and they are going to be up against better attacking players and teams. No doubt it’s a terrific defensive record, but they are the second worst in terms of scoring goals in the championship. They won’t be able to keep better sides out, then they are in trouble.

They scored 9 in their first two games, so just 28 in the 29 games since. Burnley fans are not particularly enjoying it by all accounts.

Ten 0-0s is mad. They're the complete opposite of us last season.

They're also one of the most boring teams I've ever had the misfortune of watching. It's not as if they need to be so dull either, they've got one of the biggest budgets in the league.

The Parker appointment was a massive overcorrection after the defensive struggles they had with Kompany in the PL.

Best wait until the end of the season to settle this debate.

And by 5-0 and 4-1 wins in the first two games of the season.

Take those three results out and it is 23 goals in 28 games. 100 points/100 goals might be a stretch for them.

In comparison we had scored 55 goals after 31 games last season.
