Maybe it is just me 02:25 - Feb 11 with 6444 views | DavoIPB | But I thought we looked very average against Coventry. Think Frank was right, nothing in it between the teams except we took our opportunities. Thought they passed the ball better, were quicker in attack and cut through our defence on more than one occasion especially first half. We seemed to rely on long balls to a lone striker and nabbing the ball from their mistakes in defence. We didn't look like a team at all and were slow ponderous and lacking in ideas for most of the game.

Coventry were not particularly good, and certainly no better than us - Lampard's comments about chances may be true - but scoring goals is what it is about. I don't get why people seem to get fixated on the negatives when you consider we won 4-1 away from home in what could have been a very tricky fixture. Very odd.

Liverpool went in 3-0 at half time. Probably thought they had the game sown up. Chelsea came out a different team in the second half and ended up winning 4-3! Mental game! |
You know what I mean, barring anything hugely unlikely it was won at half-time, we didn't have to push in the second half.

Aye. Frank Lampard's Coventry never really troubled us.

Maybe it is just me on 09:58 - Feb 11 by NthQldITFC | We're all different and I guess we're in glass half full|empty territory. I find it confusing too how some seem to want to look for negatives all the time, especially given the path we have and still are travelling from League One. It does seem to be the same people who have higher expectations or less tolerance for us not being at 95% plus every game. It sometimes pisses me off and drives me from the forum, but we're all Town fans and we all react differently I guess - we've just got to remember that players and teams are not robots; performances vary and external noises can impact the team. |
I am really guilty of this. I always see the negatives in a performance, but have enjoyed the games despite this. I get frustrated when we play badly as it always seems capable of being better
Maybe it is just me on 14:17 - Feb 11 with 592 views | Rsj13 | Couldn't you say exactly the same about Liverpool, Brighton, Everton against us this season? In a huge number of games, it isn't about dominating an opponent, but rather making the most of the chances you get. We did that very well against Cov. The game was all but won by HT, so there wasn't the need to press on and dominate and move the ball quickly and break them down. Yes, it's nice to see, but the only stat that matters is goals scored being higher than the other team!

Apologies. I didn't realise you thought van Ewijk, Torpp, Bidwell and Ellis Simms would have completely reversed the outcome of that game on their own! Even stranger take.

Jolly good. You still believe those 4 would have won the game for them? (n/t) on 18:52 - Feb 11 with 427 views | Nthsuffolkblue |

...as I said earlier, I thought the scoreline flattered us. You and others don't, that's fine, I can accept that. I'm not really into long drawn out arguments! Have a great evening.
