The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:51 - Feb 22 by Wacko | But they're also relying on their very expensive high quality individual players to turn the game with moments of magic despite having no team cohesion - we just don't have them, yet. Once we get our international scouting going we'll hopefully be able to bring in some gems, like: Wissa - 8.5m Mbeumo - 5.8m Mitoma - 3m |
Precisely. Our lack of an overseas network means we are paying for overpriced local players that are not yet Prem-ready Malen cost less than Philogene. Moder and Gross both left Brighton for less than £10 million combined

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:10 - Feb 22 by ITFCSG | It is not. The season before last (22/23) all 3 promoted teams stayed up and all 3 of them are now in the top 10 |
That genuinely is never going to happen again.. Sheff Utd and Burnley likely to come back up with substantially worse team than they got relegated with.

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:04 - Feb 22 by RedX | A club would need huge funds and 5/6 windows to even compete bottom half. Tgen there’s some of the ridiculous decisions from refs and VAR going against you throughout the season. The gap is massive. |
It is and it from what we’ve seen this season it may take clubs a few seasons of yo-yoing to be able to bridge that gap. The problem with the promoted clubs getting relegated 2 seasons on the trot is that it allows the others in the prem to consolidate even more and so the gap gets even bigger. Be v interesting to see how dirty Leeds get on next season.

Fulham - up, down, up, down, up. Several years of PL or parachute money Bournemouth - down, straight back up. Were an established PL side before a bad season, therefore many years of PL or parachute money. Forest - the exception. But they had to break the PSR and overspend to do it! Who is coming up end of this season?... Leeds look like they are coming back next season, that's while they still have parachute money. Up for 3 seasons, down for 2, probably up. Several PL and parachute money seasons. Sheff Utd (probably) - up and managed 2 seasons, 2 seasons down, up, down, probably up again this season. So again no break in PL or parachute money. Burnley (probably) - down, up, down, probably up again. Many years of PL or parachute money.

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:22 - Feb 22 by Nthsuffolkblue | Well done, Don Goodman. |
The point I was making was that comparisons with Forest, Brentford etc don’t work because they at least had teams in their second season of the PL to compete against when they went up.

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:30 - Feb 22 by ITFCSG | I would be amazed if Spurs or Brighton would go for McK. He can't even work with non-British / home nations players how is he going to manage squads that resemble a mini UN General Assembly? McK is still a long way from being a Prem manager. If Brighton want him I'd gladly swap him for Hürzeler. |

The 3 promoted sides…… on 19:30 - Feb 22 with 997 views | You_Bloo_Right | Spend and spend again. Then if you happen to stay up despite any points penalty, spend again. It worked (for many years) for Man City and Forest. Alternatively let the "big boys" f off into a European league and give us football back.

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:54 - Feb 22 by jasondozzell | Completely agree and well said. Today we gave Spurs a game and scoreline flatters them. Really proud of how we dug in at 2-0 down. Terrible luck and everything against us. So close to 2-2 and the roof coming off. |
Terrible luck and everything against us. That really is absolute bollox. We are where we are because we’ve not been good enough. And there’s no shame in that.

The 3 promoted sides…… on 17:12 - Feb 22 by itfcsuth | Need to stop blaming others. It’s our own fault we spent £170m odd to replace and Champ team with another. [Post edited 22 Feb 17:14]

100%. But he / she is right in terms of need to stop blaming others. Always think it’s tinpot when other clubs do it. Let’s not be tinpot.

They may have but they currently sit bottom of the league the year the season after they got relegated. If we go down but finish top next season. Who recruited better when the opportunity came.

Though they didn't spend £120m+ on the squad yet put up a better fight in terms of results. As said, we should be in a much position next year. But then Luton didn't lose many players from last season, so this will be a shock to them.

Of course we spent much more. But had we kept the majority of our side from last year playing with the odd addition then I think we'd have had a similar path. But we've rolled the dice with using the funds on a lot of young talent for trading and future seasons. Something that should put us in a better position than they are currently. Their squad kinda reached its peak. A large majority of ours now haven't scratched the surface on where their careers can go
