Two achievements we can manage this season.. 11:08 - Mar 5 with 3154 views | SaffronWaldenBlues | Now we have missed out of the FA Cup quarter-final, and bar a radical turn around in form, we're likely going down. There are two things we can potentially be very proud of this season if it happens. Liam Delap playing for England, and George Hirst playing for Scotland. Credit to McKenna if that happens. Hirst and Delap have come on leaps and bounds under him, if you think of Delap at Hull and Hirst at Rotherham, compared to now where they are Premier Legaue goalscorers and potentially internationals, that does show McKenna's ability to improve players being his real strength here. It would be fantastic to see if it happened. I also think Omari may be more likely to get a squad place look in than Davis at present. I think that given that Delap could still play for Ireland and Omari could still be a full international for Jamaica (I know he's played some friendly games), there may be added incentives to give them both minutes for England, if only to protect our interests going forward.

McKenna doesn't either from the stupid question the interviewer gave him pre-match Monday. We will stay up. Nothing else matters. [Post edited 5 Mar 11:11]

Why not? Do you understand what an achievement that would be for Ipswich to have someone to play for England again? It would be huge, it's been decades, we talk about what progress means. Well, that's an example of progress. If nothing else matters, would relegation be an abject failure in your eyes? I don't think it is, It's a different world now in football; to be within touching distance of staying up most of the season when we could have easily done a Southampton is an achievement, even once it is mathematically confirmed we are down. I have no complaints. it is disappointing, but we were not ready for this and couldn't attract players at a price we could afford/within the rules to keep us up. It's the nature of the beast as we head into the closed-shop era.

Two achievements we can manage this season.. on 11:45 - Mar 5 with 2510 views | positivity | "radical"?? we need to beat wolves again (this time at home, possibly without cunha, who's bee involved in c.50% of their goals) then get 3 points more than them over the remaining 10 games. (0.3 points per game). not easy, but hardly radical!

Issue is we need to improve our form and for Wolves to have a relatively big drop off. Combine the two and it's fairly radical. We've had 3 wins and Wolves have 6. Also, didn't their flurry of points over new year come while Cunha was suspended?

don't think so, saw something suggesting that they've not won a league game when he hasn't scored? it's fine margins rather than radical improvement, of our last 4 we've lost one heavily, one narrow away loss, and had 2 away draws (to a champions league team and to the side currently 3rd). not saying it's easy, just saying that it's not the time to wave the white flag as some are! edit: looks like the games cunha were suspended for resulted in two 0-3 losses... They have Everton, Southampton, us, and West Ham coming up and could realistically have 6 more points after that run of games. Cunha out will make a difference, between they "should" be able to get something from at least two of those games with the squad they have. We have Palace, Forest, Bournmouth, and Wolves, and I think we'd be lucky to have 4 points after those. We may beat Wolves, but we are so poor at home I'd be less surprised if we beat Palace away or Bournmouth!

waving the white flag with 12 games to go is far more snowflake-y behaviour in my book than getting bored of some poster's pointless negativity!

You'd be much better off supporting Arsenal or possibly Liverpool

On any view we need to be scoring twice as many points per game as we've achieved thus far. That's a pretty radical turn around in form. We only have 11 games left. Winning 3 of them may very well not be enough. 3 from 11, compared with 3 from 27 so far. That's a pretty radical turn around in form. And it may well not be enough.

if we were losing every game comfortably then winning 3 would be a radical change. if we're drawing and losing by narrow results then it's down to fine margins. we may continue to fall just short, we may get on the right side of them, it really wouldn't be "radical"!

Two achievements we can manage this season.. on 11:51 - Mar 6 with 1415 views | NeedhamChris | Personally I couldn't give a damn about whether we get international call ups. Indirectly it's a good thing because it suggests we'd have a player playing well enough to deserve one, but I can't say it's anywhere near an achievement in itself for me. I don't expect us to survive - I think we're almost certainly going down. However for as long as it's still possible, the players mindset needs to be that winning games is the main achievement we can manage this season. Anything else is just window dressing

I suppose everyone has a different idea of what constitutes "radical". I agree, of course, that we are not losing every game comfortably. However, even draws really aren't a great deal of use without sufficient wins. The number of wins we need makes the requisite change in form, if not radical, then highly unlikely. Being able to battle to a 1-1 draw in between losses ain't gonna keep us up. Winless in 8 league games, and in my view we need 3 wins from 11. It's not impossible, but I think we must beat Leicester and Wolves and at least one other. Losing at home to the team adrift at the bottom, losing to a team with fewer players, and then getting another couple injured in the Cup does not indicate that this is likely. But I suppose whilst there's hope...
